Kratos from god of war. He's a gratuitous, needlessly violent prick.
I'd agree with that sentiment, at least after the first game. I've decided that the series ended when he jumped off the cliff in the original. Everything after that is just splatter porn, sweet, sweet splatter porn.
Yeh. In the second game it seemed like he was just murdering for fun. I didn't even finish it because I genuinely didn't want to see him win.

Moria from Fallout 3 (she was the reason I blew up megaton).
She was the reason I saved it. Only overly cheery person I didn't think had a psychological problem (seriously, they all do). Mind you, I did convince her I was an ambassador from V101 and did supply her with misinformation for that naive little guide of hers. Muahahahaha.
Moira was DEFINATLY dropped on her head as a child... Seriously, its the only way to explain just how much of a ditz she was.
I'm nearing the end of my enjoyment with FO3 exploration, time to pop some skulls. Moria's first of the bat.
Just watch out for everyone else in megaton... Tried shooting the place up shortly after i left the vault... Yeah... didnt make it...

Actually... I think i blew megaton up in the save that i beat the game in. Had to start over because i ran out of stimpacks on the mothership. Damn aliens...
Also, I ran out of stimpacks in the broken steel airfield place. Had to resort to extreme cannibalism, forgot to take dog meat with me too. God damn I was lucky to have the Deathclaw controller, lever action rifle and several billion stealth boys handy.
OH GOD!!! That place... i tried to forget about it, and mostly succeeded because my game was EXTREMELY prone to freezing after the end of the main storyline... 3 steps, oh shit, found 4 more deathclaws... I'll just sneak by with my chinese stealth armor... OH GODAMIT!!! DONT FREEZE AGAIN!

Lucrecia, from FFVII Dirge of Cerberus. They worked so very hard to make her a tragic, sympathetic character, but through it all I just had this overwhelming sense of "I hate this skank!"

She fell for her much older boss, caused his death, slept with her (extremely creepy) second boss, performed experiments on her unborn child, and pretty much single-handedly effed up the lives of every other character in that series. And then locked herself in a crystal so she could whisper at people. ><

Every white-washed, flimy, but-I-don't-want-to-pilot-the-giant-robot pussy protagonist ever written. All of them. I absolutely cannot stand being forced to watch something or play something from their point of view.

Joey Tribbiani. I know his stupidity is supposed to be funny, but I just find it infuriating.

And I had no idea "Black guy with Afro" was an element of nature. It would have made Captain Planet a more interesting show. "Earth!" "Fire!" "Water!" "Wind!""Black guy with Afro!"(heart was a lame element)
"by your powers combined, i am captain planet, dawg."
Oh god. I lol'd hard.

"I am captain planet, bustin' all them corporate fatcatz yo!"

I usually hate the guys i create for games like Dragon Age, or my Sheppards from Mass effect. I don't know why but I'm always thinking "wow, that's a douche. Well let's press start anyway and get this over with".

And Naruto. I kinda like the series (back then), but Naruto is just an annoying protagonist. The series got good whenever he shut the hell up.

I really disliked Drizzt in R.A. Salvatores Novels.
Enjoyed everyone else, despised his whining.

Also, Zelda pisses me off.
I can't explain it, but every time she gets screen time it bothers me.

I so agree. And it seems he is the main focus of the series anymore. It's always Brian vs. Oversimplified liberal talking point.

Most of the cast of Eternal Sonata but in particular Polka and Beat. Polka's voice actress is infuriatingly drippy - sucking any sympathy you had for the character out with every 'grown woman's baby voice' syllable and Beat is just, sorry, a little retard. They've explained the same flimsy premise of going to this place three times! 'Beat: But Retto what does that mean again? I'm confused.' You could probably cut a huge chunk out of the total time for the cutscenes if they just killed him off. It'd be sadder than that OTHER cutscene anyways....

Naruto. A hundred times Naruto. Don't you just love it, when a series could be exellent, but is largely ruined by the fact that the main character is the most unlikeable character in the history of everything anime :|

Miranda Lawson so your arrogant, condescending, treat my entire crew like crap, and are on the normady exclusively for the purpose of keeping an eye on TIM's 'assets' Why should i like you. Is it what your jumpsuit barely holds? thanks but i have hanar porn, thats just insulting

Christopher Robin i didnt go home to watch winnie the pooh's adventures only to watch you talk about going back to school.

Eowyn from The Lord of The Rings I prefered you in the book when you were a psychotic hyper-nationalist, in the movie though her personality has been deluded to that of cliche' badass-action-girl

Narrator from The Stranger: you piss off everyone you meet, belittle them, die, and star the most worthless and pathetic philosophical movements in history. Why does anyone sympathize, or worse emulate the prick?

Gordon Freeman everyone likes him way too much, you could take all of the dialogue about him into a Blues Clues style kids show. "Good Job, Gordon" "I knew you, could do it" "thanks dad, but i couldn't have done it without Gordon"

Steve Jobs he has made a fortune selling you the same $500 product several times, at least cigarettes are only 5 a pack

Nynaeve from Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series. The entire time she comes of as a self righteous ***** where the only reason she hasn't been slapped yet is because she a woman. Not to be sexist, but any person as abrasive as this character would have gotten the shit kicked out of them eventually, even if it was by another woman. And this series is supposed to take place in pseudo-medieval times. Why nobody even stands up to her abusive demeanor I don't really understand. Sure, she gets it a little bit in her training, but all this does is let her access the ability to ALTER REALITY (eg: magic). She stays a stuck up ***** pretty much the entire series.

Actually, the Wheel of Time had kind of a strong feminist undercurrent that got really preachy after a while. I disliked most of the female characters in the series as a result. The men were treated largely like either plague dogs or idiot man-children. The women were mostly pretentious and stuck-up, assured of their superiority in a way that makes my teeth grind. Few were genuinely likable.
Gahahahaha. Thank you for summing that up better than I could.
Nynaeve is so goddamn annoying, and I'm glad Egwene puts her through the ringer so much.
I found Elayne and Min to be enjoyable, and I miss Moiraine, but I definitely agree there is that feminist under-current.

"Hi, I'm Nynaeve. I will marry the most badass brutal guy in the whole series, make him my own sex toy, yet still be a *****. Whine whine whine. I don't like that Seanchan girl who is more powerful than me! I MUST BE THE STRONGEST! Cadsuane is a wench! (I find her amusing, lol) Whine complain *****!"

Do I hate Nynaeve? I don't really like her that much, but I don't hate her.

Slippy Toad...ugh.
This.
Navi is just as annoying, but useful, and inherently beneficial.
Just about every other character that I don't like has pros and cons, but Slippy doesn't have shit for pros. So he can show the hp of the boss I am fighting. OoOoOOooOOOoooooOoOOoo... that is SOOOO useful. Thank you Slippy!...

Edit: I just had to include this...

Can we sign a petition to the people who make anime to cut these pussy "I need to spend at least 2 episodes complaining about being a pilot of one of the most powerful military weapons invented in all anime" effeminate douchetards?

I see Carth and Kaidan have already been mentioned multiple times, so here's a new one:

Sgt. Reznov of CoD: WaW.

Now, let me just say this: I liked him at first. The starting mission with him was fairly tolerable and he at least didn't get in the way of me shooting Nazis. Then everything starts to go downhill with the subsequent missions, starting with "Their Land, Their Blood." That's when I learned of his Panzerschreck fetish, seeing as how he wouldn't stop yelling at me to use it when I got my hands on it.

The deal-breaker came in the vehicle mission, "Blood and Iron." It's bad enough that I'm in a tank and I can't see shit when I take a tank shell and smoke and debris gets everywhere on top of the red damage indicator, but Reznov takes it across the line by yelling blatantly *wrong* directions about where the enemy is attacking from.

Here's the gist of what happened during the mission:

Me: "Oh, joy. Another tank shooting me from nowhere. Now I can't see anything."

Reznov: "TANK!! RIGHT SIDE!!!"

Me: "...That tank is in front of me, Reznov."

Reznov: "TANK!! RIGHT SIDE!!!"

Me: "Dammit, Reznov, shut up! There's only one tank on the entire map, and it's staring right at me! RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME!"

Reznov: "USE THE PANZERSCHRECK!"

Me: "...Reznov, if you don't shut up, I'm going to kick you out of the tank, light you on fire, run you over, and BLOW YOU UP JUST TO MAKE SURE IT TOOK. Now, for the last fucking time, SHUT UP AND LET ME DRIVE!!"

...yeah.

I know what you mean, but I think I've grown to like her after the Tower of Midnight--it's just Elayne and Egwene I hate now. And that's not the misogynist in me speaking.

I think Drizzt has some legitimate reasons for whining... having to escape the hell hole and crazy deathbringing society and family he was in. at least more reason than a whole lot of other whiny main character have... geeze, just look up some JRPG's and you can cringe at some of these spiky haired idiot's performances.

Anyway, I never liked Tali'Zorah from Mass Effect. I just thought she was far too needy to ever be likeable.

In the books: Sometimes, I see what you mean.
In the film: OH GOD YES. That smug little voice of hers makes me want to punch her in the face (which would also be the first time I'd ever been driven to suicide).
