Niko from GTAIV. Before I bought and played the game I'd assumed from advertisements that he was going to be an asshole criminal sleazy scumbag douche-face. This was actually a reason I put off playing the game as long as I did. Of course, when I started playing the game, I did see him as more of a sympathetic character, and I actually did feel for him towards the end, or would have if the voice acting hadn't been so immersion-breakingly poor.

Sorry but Duncan was completely badass and the Joining scene was too. And you can call him out on it and he explains why it had to be done.
