Characters you hate with an unbridled, illogical passion

I hate that screenshot. Makes it look like the writing staff at Bioware are all overacting 8 year olds. "Gigglesquee" and "can I nom her head" just aren't very adult things to say/sound.

I agree on hating Merrill, never had her in my party and never did her quest just to spend as little time as possible with her. Even in my good playthroughs I basically tell her I'm not her friend and will never visit.

I also hate Leliana, and I tend to get really annoyed at Tali. Seems I dislike all the popular new Bioware characters (apart from Wrex). Other than that, none that I can think of (rulers in EU III aren't really characters, but they anger me sometimes which is great AAR material).

Haha Leliana's another character who really triggers my whole Bioware hate-on. She's what you get when you tie 20 female stereotypes together and give them a french accent. Tali doesn't piss me off quite as much (I don't know why not, actually), but whenever she goes into doormat mode it starts annoying me, too.

Yeah for the most part I don't mind Tali and sh'es useful, but every now and then she says or does something that annoys me - or more often say something I can't respond to the way I want. Have that problem with her more than anyone, especially when she starts talking about the Geth.

Merril, Anders, Carver, Isabella, and Fenris annoyed me a lot in Dragon Age 2. Merril with her whole "Blood magic isn't bad because I can use it correctly. To prove that I will go against the wishes of my clan!" thing going on. It actually wouldn't have been so bad if she actually followed through with it. But no, she had to try and do the whole mirror thing, and she has absolutely NO problems with demons. Really Merril? Plus her cuteness just didn't win me over. Felt she was a carbon copy of Tali, but felt Tali was better done.

Anders...can't talk too much due to spoilers. But seriously, he should have learned to not be so damn depressing! That and the whole "Every templar is against us!" and "Did you just talk bad about Mages? You are a horrible person who deserves to die!"

Carver was pretty much like Anders, except with a distaste for Mages. Well, mages who are hunted by the Templars (regardless if they are guilty or not) anyway. That and the whole Rivalry thing he has going on. I'm trying to NOT be a jerk to you, yet you still treat me like crap! Why? You want to make a name for yourself? Go ahead! I'm not trying to overshadow you like you claim to be! Damn! But whatever, I can tell he is a good hearted person.

Isabella, I think maybe you should probably cut back a bit on the whole "I'm a sleazy whore" image you have set up for yourself. You want to be one? Fine. But not to the extreme that you take it! Also, that whole Act 2 thing? Yeah, won't say due to spoilers, but seriously Isabella? Seriously? Then she never came back to my party because I didn't have enough Friendship/Rivalry points...

Fenris is the like Anders 100%. Hates Mages with a passion. My male Hawke was a mage, so I thought it would be interesting to romance Fenris. Sadly, Fenris doesn't exactly change his opinion...at all. I totally see where he is coming from, but like Isabella, maybe you should learn to calm down a bit?

Funny, I like how in DA2 they all have nice long character arcs/missions that you can go on, but I just felt like I couldn't really influence how the characters thought at all.

But the one, single, most hatred I have for a character, has got to be Kratos from God of War. Specifically, God of War 2 and 3. Extra Credits pretty much nailed my opinion of him perfectly. Sure, I felt like a Badass when I played as him, but I hate him so much. Its ok to destroy the world as long as you "Have your revenge!!!!" right? Actually felt really bad for the gods for being all "You said my name, now you must die!".

Yeah, slight exaggerations for the characters above, but they just annoy me so damn much...

I'll attempt to actually play this game all the through in about a week or so.. and maybe I'll even grow to like her eventually, but for right, I really can't stand Vanille. I just want to slap her out of existence. It's not any one thing in particular that she does.. just, to me, she comes across as lackadaisical and crazy, flipping her arms around when she walks. OMG! She annoys me so much, now, oddly enough I don't hate Hope like everyone else seems to. I mean.. he saw his mom get killed right in front of him.. I'd be a little choked up too if I just saw that. The fact that he's still able to fight and operate at all after that amazes me really.

I was THRILLED when she died in the final mission. Almost as thrilled as I was to send Ashley to her death. There was actually a moment when I realized that I had within my powers to send her to the slaughter where my heart beast suddenly sped up 10x, and I actually burst into gleefully maniacal laughter and yelled "I GET TO KILL ASHLEY, THAT FUCKING *****!"

And i kinda dislike Wheatley from Portal 2. Its not unbridled rage or anything, but i would have rather had the Space Core lead me through the game.

Isabella for some reason just really annoys me. I really don't understand why. I don't especially hate vulgar comments (Varric was one of my favorite party members) but some reason I was really annoyed every time the woman opened her mouth. Not to mention her very selfish treatment of the quanari relic. I wasn't sad to see her leave my party.

Y'know, I'm a huge FF fan, and I couldn't even bring myself to play 13. Btw, FF6 is pretty good,a s far as characters and story go. In fact, using those standards, it's probably the best one.

ANYWAY.....

I hate Micaiah from Fire Emblem: Radient Dawn with a passion. I just hate her for hating Ike just because his brigade had put her nation into disarray. Oh let me check her nation Daein was the nation that wage war with the other peaceful nation which in another word was the total badguy. Sorry but I have to empathy for someone coming from a former evil nation who is against the good guy from the last game.

Seriously, it's fine if a villain clowns around and does stupid s***, but we're supposed to believe that he's also a super-intelligent mastermind, has good fighting skills (Arkham Asylum, anyone?), and continually escapes prison and gains a legion of followers? Not only that, but he steals the spotlight from Batman, is completely cocky, and everyone seems to love him, fans and all. F*** that, I say. He can go choke on roped turd.

Other runner-ups: Rogue the Bat, the kids from Twilight Princess, Atlus from Bioshock (flame shield stil up), Ratchet (at times), several characters from Lost and 24, the old lady from Be Kind Rewind (god I wanted to kill her), Farah (feminist to the extreme) and possibly Chloe from Uncharted. Phew, I think I'm done.

However, unless I pretend he is really a janitor at Black Mesa that everyone got confused for the real scientist, and that's why he never speaks to anyone, I become irrationally angry and find ways to explode him. Seriously though, all the in game dialog feels awkward because a lot of dialog is about things relating to him , so everyone talks at or around him instead of with him because ( to beat a metaphorical dead horse) HE NEVER SPEAKS!

On a slightly less serious note, I don't think there's ever really been any game character I've hated. The only character to make me go "Wow, that guy's a dick." was Zeus in his God of War 3 rendition. In 1 he was a one scene wonder, in 2 it made it seem more like he was paranoid an scared than evil, but in 3 he becomes a real jerk. Pretty much insulting you every chance he gets. It annoyed me.
