Light was the greatest mass murderer in the sense that he killed people by himself. But he didn't write down millions of names. That alone makes him less than the Nazi's. Individually he was the greatest. That just came to mind the other day.
I always wondered how many pages the Death Note had.
Yeah I was trying to leave the Nazi's out of this, different circumstances completely. (In addition to the fact one was real while the other is ficticious...). Remember the death note has infinite pages? It's one of the rules... it's written.... somewhere. But I definately remember reading that because I wondered the same thing

Gannondorf from the Zelda series comes to mind.

Someone just give him the freaking Triforce if for no other reason than making the story more interesting.

Also, Dagoth Ur from Morrowind was always cool in my mind--he helped make Morrowind have the better storyline in comparison to Oblivion if nothing else.

Oh and Ozymandius (Watchmen). Thought he was a genius. Same goes for Iago (Shakespeare, anyone?).
Haha that sure is a spoiler for some people. I wasn't rooting for Adrian, that's for sure. But definitely the Empire is far superior to the Rebel Alliance, the Rebels are just...lame.

Real or not, there's no way Light, Misa, Mikami and Takeda could've written that many names down combined.
I didn't know that. I kind of thought that though. I recently learned that if you misspell a persons name four times accidentally then they're permanently immune to the Death Note. But if you purposely misspell a persons name four times then you'll die. Never effects the story but it's a weird rule.

You must have watched the series. I read the manga and at the end of each it had a section on rules of the deathnote. Heaps on meaningless ones, but some really mattered to the story.

I always cheered for Sylar. To me, all the good guys are really annoying, with the exceptions of Hiro, Ando, and Mohinder to the point where I want Sylar to kill them all and steal their powers.

I would have to go with Suitengu from Speed Grapher, and the Emperor of Britannia from Code Geass. Oh and who could forget Monster King from Melody of Oblivion.

zing. Same with a lot of animes too - Code geass, Narutaru... could probably keep going for a while.

Jinno/Kuma from Afro Samurai always came across as being more of an unfortunate victim as opposed to a pure antagonist. He was a really tragic and broken character who's entire existence was shattered as a consistence of his closest friend's quest for revenge. There were times that I wanted him to kill Afro so he could have his vengeance and finally be at peace.

You know I would argue that Code Geass is an example of a show the features a story suitable for a character to be a villain but that there are no real villains at all. The same with Metal Gear. The AI's that has been manipulating things from the begining is malfunctioning, everyone else is being manipulated by said AI's, and although Majot Zero probably does not know this the AI's he had created to safegaurd America had come to dominate it to the point that they wanted to take away free will entirely.

President Eden wanted to save humanity, hell I agreed with president Eden entirely but theres no way to join him.
Aw, way to spoil it for me. :(

President Eden was going to reinstate baseball, create a future for the children, kill all the mutants, and deal with the viles of the wasteland. Why must the game make him the villian?! If anything, he's the good guy!! All he wants to do is kill the supermutants and ghouls...that makes him evil?! I kill ghouls and supermutants, and I get good karma, yet Eden gets to be the devil? WTF fallout 3?

But I digress...

The main problem is that he wanted to do it with a nuke in the form of the modified FEV.

I mean honestly, do you think the Vong would have stood a chance against the Eclipse Star Destroyer or the Death Star?
I think the superlasers would have actually been less effective than you think (See the Enemy Lines duology by Aaron Allston). However, the massive fleets, characteristically crushing counter-attacks, the Emperor's Battle Meld (psychic morale booster even over extreme distances), and the uncompromising chain of command inherent in a dictatorship would probably have done the trick superbly.

So what? Would anyone really die that mattered? Both times I've played the game, when asked if I would nuke megaton, I couldn't hit the "Yes please!" button fast enough.

The point I'm trying to make (in an absurdist type of way, I suppose) is that if they want us to hate the villians, or not try and join them whenever we first get the chance, is that you have to make the 'good' people likible (sp?), something Bethesda seems not to be very good at, as I did the samething with the dark brotherhood in Oblivion.

If people didn't spend so much time building amazing villians for us to fight, we wouldn't play their games, but on the flip side, a lot of us want to join them, just like me. :)

But honestly, who didn't want to nuke megaton after doing two parts of the survival guide quests? Bleh. (that's what really got me annoyed; I nuked megaton to kill Moria...and she freakin' lived?! Really fallout 3 ? Really?)

Just to keep this from becoming a purely fallout 3 rant, I will mention that I cheered most for Dr. Horrible from Dr. Horrible's Sing-along blog. :) It turned out so awesome.

That could be true. Plus with order that the Empire had over the galaxy no one would bend to the will of the Vong as quickly. The Empire also had a nearly endless supply of naval resources and the use of Force lightening, which is the only thing to affect the Vong (or so I've heard)

I know Thrawn was... <--- This was a quote, but I deleted the thingamajiggers and I am too lazy to begin again.

Thrawn was never quoted as being a supporter of the arts. He just a used a species' art to unravel its psychology.

Have you read outbound flight? Pretty bad ass.

To all - If you like seeing the bad guy win, and you like star wars you HAVE to read the Darth Bane series. It kicks a lot of ass.

This so not thread to look at if you've just begun Fallout 3 and don't know the story yet.

Anyway, I always cheer on the locusts... well I cheer on the fact that I want more to chainsaw.
