Chell... could be just what the proverbial doctor ordered. ^^

Concept/box art doesn't exactly equal in-game asset. I'm guessing they won't Bioware the crap out of her (see: ME3 Ashley).

I think it was just the slight graphical limitations that made her look rather plain in Portal 1, theres a similar thread on Ashley's appearance in ME3 looks like they figured brushing up their appearance would increase interest. Well I suppose it has got people talking.

Well obviously the look is noticeably different; one's concept art from now, and the other's her rendered in-game on a 4-year-old version of the engine.

Her face is just smoother, she's wearing shoes, and she took her jacket off. Well, I do guess trying to survive an insane A.I. program gets a little hectic. Hectic : Sweaty. And running through sludge barefoot in the original - calls for some shoes.

Basically, it's just her taking the jacket off. Not really a big change.lol

Glad to see Valve have very much kept their knack for making sexy female character that are realistically proportioned and without any silly pandering.

I wasn't a fan of Chell's Portal 1 look. Always found it a bit weird, and face was somewhat... Uncanny valleyesque... I thereby consider her new look a marked improvement.

The look has been noticeably altered. The long Fall boot, as advertised in the most recent investment opportunity advert, also looks a fair bit like a springy high heel. The comics even have her cheeks and face looking rosier.

but keep in mind, in the first Portal, Chell was awoken from a pod, kind of meaning that she's been there for a long while, therefore looking like shit

while in the second one, she's been out in the real world, she must have come across a shower or a mirror at some point, right? =P

As soon as Chell got out she was recuperated and frozen for 100 years.

On darn near any other game, I'd disagree, but since the PS3 disk comes with a free pc version . . . I say YES!

What happened to the original design of Portal 2 Chell, of this?

I guess they wanted fanservice, as this design does creep me out.

She's kinda looking like Rochelle from Left 4 Dead 2.

I understand why they changed her look, after hearing a lot of people's feedback, but I was totally in love with that design. It's so clinical and sterile, and really stood out in terms of form over function, which is so rare with female game characters.
