I've got a pretty hairy chest and I used to shave it all off but now I embrace it.
With women, all my ex-girlfriends haven't had a problem with it but I know girls that do.

I'm female... and I can't say I'm a fan of the look. I mean, a bit is okay... but guys that look like they are in the later stages of a lycanthropic transformation do not look attractive to me.

That being said, I wouldn't force a guy I dated to shave his chest hair, if he had any. I'd be annoyed if he asked me to change my hairstyle, or stop shaving my legs or something (er, sorry, best examples I could think of off the top of my head). It'd be one hell of a double-standard if was willing to ask him to change for me, but wasn't comfortable with the reverse.

I don't have a lot of chest hair. My wife likes it that way - especially because I have a light coloured trail that curves around my navel.

If I had a lot of hair she'd probably make me shave or wax.

It might be worth shaving just so it regrows in a darker, more noticable shade... but I don't think it'd be worth it to shave it off to keep hairless, that's too much work to appease people who're bothered by little things.

I don't grow hair on my chest or arms. Personally, I don't know how people could stand having all that hair under your shirt, it must get awfully itchy and hot there, right?

Male: I have chest and stomach hair about the same length and hue as as my arm and leg hair.

I don't care for it, but I'm not self conscious or vain enough to cover up what my body does naturally. If I had a lady friend who'd prefer I shave it off I'd go ahead and do it to make her happy. It's a non-issue to me.

Luckily I live in a hipster filled city(Seattle). Where beards and other hairy bits can be rocked with no consequence. I guess the hipsters are good for something.

That's odd, I was thinking of starting this thread myself. Yes I'm a Male, and I've had chest hair since I was 14 (currently 18.) This has always creeped me out, but I never had the guts to shave it off because I hear it's a taboo or something.
Male competition swimmers usually shave their body hair to decrease their drag in water. So it isn't that taboo for men to shave.

I've known guys who shaved their with a beard trimmer - to shorten the hairs but not remove them. I'm not sure... why the did that. **shrug**

I have chest hair and a decent amount. Nobodies complained about it so... eh.

Honestly, I'm worried about the ever increasing amount of back hair that's coming in. If anybody sees this, preferably Girls, what's your opinion on this?

I've recently been thinking about my large amount of chest hair and wondering whether I should shave it off. I've always viewed chest hair as one of the best signs of masculinity (the hardest difficulty level in Darkest of Days is called "With Chest Hair"), but I've gotten mixed results from society.

The questions I present are:

What is your opinion on chest hair?

For males: do you have it?

For females: do you find it attractive or repulsive? Would you force your boyfriend to shave it if he had it?
surprisingly enough, i'm going as rocky for my halloween costume, so i'm literally shaving the chest as i type this

however, onto the issue, honestly i think it depends on your chest hair "type", if its super thick ass curly pubeness or if it's kinda flat hair that lays nicely and is well kept.

if it's the latter, and isn't too thick/long, then no big deal IMO, otherwise shave that shit off just like you would with facial hair/pubes/etc...

most girls i've talked to don't care too much as long as it isn't long like i was stating, and by long i mean you see more hair than skin on your chest/stomach.

Chest hair, fine that's no problem. I have it and don't plan on shaving it.

Back hair on the other hand...

Female, the only thing I don't like is a rug under your shirt. None is sexy, some is even more sexy, looking like a bear is a no IMHO.
