I think that female-headed rockers are really coming out more lately. Off the top of my head I can name Halestorm and Eyes Set to Kill, and then there's bands like Paramore, Flyleaf and Evanescence that have been out for several years. I could even go back and name No Doubt, Heart, and Joan Jett and the Blackhearts.
For instrumentalists The White Stripe has a female drummer. Eyes Set to Kill has a female bass player, and their frontwomen plays lead guitar. Skillet has both a female drummer and female synth/keyboard/rhythm-guitarist.
In my opinion, there is always a spot for female rockers. Not only does everyone deserve the same rights if they make great music, a lot of heavier music is dominated by testosterone driven men (Five Finger Death Punch, I'm talking about you... but I'm not complaining) and a feminine voice is a great way to break that up. That being said, I want to point out that Archenemy doesn't really bring much to the table in terms of "feminine voice". That's not really my cup of tea...
