The media's going to be all over this like vultures to a corpse. Ladies and Gentlemen, barricade your doors and lock your windows. A shitstorm approaches.

Damn. Using MW2 as a training simulator? That is just bait that guy shit out to put some more hate on violent video games. What a douche...

Please, can we stop saying the media is "going to" be attacking video games because of news stories like this? Every time there's a story where some killer played Super Mario once when he was 12, everyone shouts in unison that Fox News is going to take the story and run with it and there's a "brace for impact" mentality and the thing is, it rarely happens. When I see CNN condemning Call of Duty for this, then I'll fight for the cause, but there's already people ready to jump in the tank of video game defense before the war has even started... I don't mean to be rude but I see people making comments like yours all the time and it's starting to get on my nerves.

And yeah, I read about this and yeah he wrote about video games but he also wrote about a lot more stuff that isn't getting as much media attention. To me, he's just a sick guy, despite how honorable and idealistic his motives were.

EDIT: By honorable, I didn't mean his racist stuff... he claimed he wanted to make Europe a better place which is the only thing I'll praise him for. Unfortunately, he and I have different views on how to improve the world.

And he also talked about how MW2 was a great combat simulator which is simply silly.

I am surprised he got that far if his training was MW2 frankly that game would be terrible as far as training is concerned sure it is a little realistic but there is alot thats wrong about it and all the realism is stuff that anybody with a brain would think of like to duck and hide so you dont get shot back.

Do you know what video games really train you to do? Push buttons. And I can tell you personally that that's completely different from reliably aiming and firing a gun. Because I have done both of these and I know.

This thread was already posted two days ago and that one also talked about how he used playing WoW as an excuse to make time to plan attacks apparently

He also had a knights templar manifesto saying he had to kill all the muslims so yeah bottom line

You're not the first to post it but I'll bite.
To tell you th etruth the sole training this provides is the loading animations for the pistols and guns... But he already owned a handgun and rifle, he had training with it - what can a video game do better than actual practice with a real firearm?

"It is probably the best military simulator out there"

HAHAHAHAHAHA!

Anyway, that out of the way, he probably just used it to get names of the guns he wanted to use. That's all I can see someone using MW2 for if they want to shoot up a place or something. There's no way in hell it's a good combat simulator.

this here. i saw some troll on youtube say he was going to use MW2 to train himself in a variety of weapons so he could bring about a new american revolution. its so embarrasing people can make the relation to guns in games to training with weapons.

heres an example, i used to be an army cadet, and i can strip, clean and reassemble the L85 LSW and the SA80, and do the sa80 blindfolded. how? hands on training, and lots of it. it took me 5 times to pass my sa80 basic proficiency test.

any idiot who thinks mw2 can train them in weaponry should be locked in an armoury, until they blow off their own fingers. because thats all theyre going to do without proper training.
