Honestly, if you actually took some time to look around, you'd probably find someone that is either close to, or right on, what you want to do with this god.
Honestly, you'd be surprised. I searched four websites (theoi.com, mythweb.com, pantheon.org, and godchecker.com) as well as the General Internet for deities of pain and pleasure in the most thorough ways I know how, and the closest ones I found were Quiabelagayo and Chantico, which aren't that close at all. I found deities of pain and deities of pleasure, but those miss the point somewhat when the point involves a conflict between two opposing natures.
I'm not saying I'm sticking with characters from the Bastion Pantheon until the day I die (there are some Orisha I've given long and meaningful looks to), but I'm particularly fond of Faith and some of the ideas in that sheet.

Sorry if I offended anyone, but if you really want to be a part of this rp, I think you're going to have to do more research than what you've offered so far.
You apologize for a statement in advance (which is fine), yet your tenses imply that something before the apology was possibly offensive. Also, the statement you're apologizing for isn't going to offend anybody unless you're implying they're irrational in which case I'm offended that you think I'm irrational. Carry on, citizen.
EDIT: Is anybody actually going to provide a proper critique/evaluation on the sheet? All I've heard so far is that Faith is similar to Etna and "OMG NO BASTION FOR YOU!!", and my sheet has probably provoked the biggest reaction/backlash.

Alright. On it. Disclaimer: I'm not the GM, I don't claim to be, and I have no power over what decisions Green Shoes makes. So take everything I say with a grain of salt. If I'm not saying something about it, you can assume it's somethign I don't have a problem with. I will comment on things I like in particular.
Name, Age, Gender, Divine-Parent, Appearance: Aside from the Hense thing (which I'll come back to), I'm curious why she has "bold crimson hair"; Does Hense have crimson hair? I've never played Bastion and don't really have the time to. Or, is this just the result of dye? Not really a problem, bust a curiosity.
I like the rest of the appearance section a great deal; it goes into good detail about what she looks like and gives a solid mental picture.
As for the god thing, it's a bit of a problem. Try to see this from Green Shoes perspective. He needs to create enemies and allies from the gods of the pantheon's used. The gods of Bastion (from what I've seen on the wiki) aren't very fleshed out in terms of their mythology. They don't have any accomplishments or even rough descriptions. Certainly no list of powers they would theoretically have. As a result, creating a meaningful villain or ally from these gods is difficult in the extreme and impossible for those of use you don't play Bastion or really desire to play Bastion.
The other half of the problem (as I see it) is that the cultures who worship these gods never existed in reality. As a result, there's no basis for them in the world. It's make just as much sense for a demigod of The Force (from Star Wars) or a half-human Timelord or a child of the Q Continuum (Star Trek) in this context, and sadly, with those "gods" there's more information to work with (Timelords, The Force, and The Q are all well explored by their fandoms after all)
Personality: The personality section doesn't really give a good representation of how the character will be portrayed due to the wide variety of attributes she wears as a mask. This isn't necessarily a problem, but it should probably be clarified so the GM can have a better handle on how Faith will act in the game so he can make expectations story wise.
I have nothing positive to say about it just because I don't really grasp the character very well from the personality.
Powers/Attributes: I don't see any strict problems with the character, and I do see how it differentiates from Etna (Etna affects emotions where you affect physical responses to stimuli). I am slightly confused by the limitations and extent of the main power. What precisely prevents you from causing a pin-prick (that faith causes for instance) from becoming crippling, consciousness-stealing pain?
Otherwise, the powers seem pretty good to me.
History: Here your character shines through well. I particularly like the detailed early life of the character and the death scene with the father is well written. I don't have anything I would change about it (save the god in question)
Other:The closest alternative god I can find for Hense is Baron La Croix from Vodou - the Loa of Death and Sexuality which could work. Gender is reversed which might cause a problem, but it could work.
This part of the announcement is directed primarily at Green Shoes, but anybody else who happens to care is welcome to read it as well: I am going to pull Faith/Helen McAvore from recruitment for the Children of the Gods RP. While I expected there to be a few bumps during the submission that I would be able to work through, it turns out there were several mountains instead. As a result I'll just drop the submission entirely because working through it all would be a massive waste of time for everyone involved. I may or may not submit another character later if recruitment is still happening, and I swear it'll be from a pantheon more legitimate than the one in Bastion (although possibly more obscure).
This part of the announcement is directed primarily at anybody who was offended/angered by my description of Aria Valentine in post 45 of this thread, but anybody else who happens to care is welcome to read it as well: Any connotations of sexism, misogyny, or male chauvinism on my part are unintentional, unfortunate, and I apologize for them. I have edited my argument in that post to more accurately depict the points I was making and hopefully those changes will dispel any implied commentary on gender roles. Again, my apologies for that statement.
This part of the announcement is directed primarily at hiei82, but anybody else who happens to care is welcome to read it as well: Thanks for the sheet critique. The part of my post you quoted was a roundabout attempt to get a thumbs up/thumbs down from Green Shoes, but given my wonderful ability to bungle what I'm trying to say then I'm not surprised that someone other than GShoes replied. Anyways:

There's not much of a reason; I just needed a hair color and I was considering using color symbolism at some point later on with a dress and a few other red things. The only image of Hense in the game is monochrome, so there's no real correlation there.
You bring up a number of good points here. I never really considered a GM-supplied motivation and conflict because she already came packaged with those. I would have loved to help GShoes create those things, but I've already jumped that proverbial ship so let's move on.

Three things: how involved Faith is with the injury, how painful Faith wants it to be, and how good her opponents are at denying her that scratch. Before the cries of "Overpowered!" ring out, I'd like to emphasize the fact that she is of average physical prowess, has no divine combat skills, and no weapons other than sharpened fingernails. For her, defeating someone is simultaneously very easy and very hard. A quick comparison off the top of my head would be between her and the TF2 Spy: they are only as good as their enemies are bad.
While I like the idea of a child from him, I doubt it would work for Faith as her character stems far beyond sexuality, as do the domains of her mother.
@deathbydeath: You are aware that the only real criticism that anyone had for it was that everyone was in silent agreement that the gods had to have been from some culture that has a well-defined role in history and their own deities, right? Because honestly, I'd love to just pull one of the gods from any number of games, literature, and other, (I hate this word) fictional works, but I went for someone that actually has a well-defined role in the religion of a region that exists in this world, and not in the world we create to escape from this world from time to time.
Great character, Kali is pretty terrifying and you did it well. Only concern is the power is a little too powerful; time control and strength/agility/swords; perhaps separate them into two different avatars? If you have another idea that's cool!
The character is really good, especially impressive using such little information on Woden. Just the history and backstory that concerns me as it makes presuppositions about Artemis that doesn't fit the RP story so far, and about her power over life and death (again conflicting with the story so far).
Can't blame you for that as you're not aware of the story. Are you able to compromise on this? I'm still cool with her being old and savage, just through another method?
Note: I'm not gonna play this character, but the idea was in my head and I wanted to make it real.
@Green Shoes: WHY DOES YOUR GOD GAME GIVE ME SO MANY CHARACTER IDEAS!!!!
Name: Sigurd Thorsson
Age: 22
Gender: Male
Sexual Orientation: Straight (though Loki DID make him cross-dress once as a trick)
Parent God: Thor
Appearance: Sigurd is a powerful example of masculinity. Thanks in no small part to his childhood, his entire body ripples with muscle. Like his father, his hair is shoulder-length and braided and his eyes are a deep blue. His skin is almost snow white.
Sigurd greatly enjoyed the recent Thor movies by Marvel - particularly how badly (and embarrassingly) they got the entire mythology. As a running joke he plays on his Aunts, Uncles, and Grandparents, he wears an outfit similar to that of his father in the movie; right down to the flowing red cape. It doesn't hurt that Loki egged him on into doing it (he's the only one who came out of the movies having enjoyed his portrayal). He carries a hammer as well, though it's only a mundane replication of Mjolnir. While on Midgard, he usually wears more "acceptable" clothes since there's no gods to annoy. This usually consists of a pair of old blue jeans and a grey T-shirt (with the Thor logo on it of course) and a red aviator jacket. He still caries the hammer, though concealed in the jacket.
Personality: Sigurd is arrogance personified. While he doesn't believe himself better than others, he does have an over exaggerated sense of ego and self-worth. On the one hand, this gives him an easy going confidence which people find pleasing, but on the other side his personality can be grating over time. Like his father, he's honorable and cares about others a great deal. He's more then willing to jump into danger at a moment's notice to help others regardless of the cost to himself. He'll never lie about who he is or deny his father (save when required for a prank). Unlike his father, he spent a good deal of his youth around "Uncle Loki" and has developed a love for pulling - harmless - pranks and jokes which have on occasion brought more than a little trouble.
Power:Thunder of the Gods: Sigurd can, like his father before him, call upon the power of the elements to strike down his foes. Specifically; Thunder and Lightning. From his hands, he can fire bolts of electrical power. When he does, he also lets lose a crack of deafening thunder. He can chose to project these lightning blasts into conductive objects (such as his hammer) and it behaves as normal for eletricity save that it comes from Sigurd.
Minor Attributes: Body of Thor Just like his father, Sigurd is capable of feats of strength and endurance impossible for many others. This puts him at the upper end of the demigod Olympian strength/stamina abilities, but still within the demigod range. He can still be over-powered by gods or demi-gods with "higher level" strength/endurance powers. This also gives him the ability to drink unheard of amounts of alcohol without risk.
Hammer of Thor Sigurd has been trained to use a hammer by Thor himself. He is considered skilled with the weapon.
Trickster Unlike his father, Sigurd is fairly skilled at reading people and playing tricks against them. While this is by no means perfect (it basically amounts to being skilled at understanding people), it's still enough for him to pull of pranks and lie his way out of situations (though, as said before, he doesn't lie)
History: Siguard was born to a Midgard woman in Northern Finland. She died in child birth and Sigurd had thus far avoided asking too much about her - fearing what he might find out about relatives on "her" side of the family. Unlike most deities, Thor played an active role in his life, taking care of the boy for most of his life.
Sigard has spent more time on Asgard than he has on Midgard. He grew up surrounded by true gods, watching them fight for glory on the fields of Valhalla each day, drink themselves into a stupor each evening, and repeat the process for weeks at a time. He spent an enormous amount of time with all his family, from Odin to Freya to Loki to Thor. They were his entire family and he spent much of his life striving to be just like his father.
Well, not just like his father. More than anything, he grew up wanting to surpass his father; learning everything he knew and a little more. This drove him to spend a fair amount of time with Loki; a rather knowledgeable - if unruly - god. By the time he was ten, he'd become a trickster even Loki would be proud of, though the rest of his family was less than thrilled with all the pranking.
He spent most of his life learning from the gods - how to fight, about honor, knowledge of magic (though he, like most Aesir, has little ability to use it outside his Lightning powers), and of course how to drink alcohol by the keg. He expected to spend his entire life this way - fighting, eating, drinking, and (when he came of age) loving - until he was too old to partake in it. That's why it was such a shock when Loki - one of his family - turned against his fellow gods and joined with Dionysus. Sigurd like so many of his family, were heartbroken (though hardly surprised).
It was because of Loki that Sigurd - after getting his affairs in order - descended to Midgard to help stop Dionysus and help save the world (and hopefully Loki); just like his father would. In his arrogance, he spent much of his initial time on Midgard on his own, believing he could handle whatever came his way. To his credit, he wasn't entirely wrong and did hold his own fairly well at first. But, faced with more gods then he could possibly handle on his own, he decided to join the team of demigods Zeus put together under Prometheus figuring that, even if they proved little more then a nuisance, they would probably be helpful in overcoming the shear number of gods.
[HEADING=2]Thor[/HEADING]
Thor is one of the most prominent figures in Norse mythology. He was a major god of all branches of the Germanic peoples before their conversion to Christianity, although he reached the height of his popularity among the Scandinavians of the late Viking Age.
Thor, the brawny thunder god, is the archetype of a loyal and honorable warrior, the ideal toward which the average human warrior aspired. He's the indefatigable defender of the Aesir gods and their fortress, Asgard, from the encroachments of the giants, who are usually (although far from invariably) the enemies of the gods.
No one is better suited for this task than Thor. His courage and sense of duty are unshakeable, and his physical strength is virtually unmatched. He even owns an unnamed belt of strength that makes his power doubly formidable when he wears the belt. His most famous possession, however, is his hammer, Mjollnir. Only rarely does he go anywhere without it. For the heathen Scandinavians, just as thunder was the embodiment of Thor, lightning was the embodiment of his hammer slaying giants as he rode across the sky in his goat-drawn chariot.
Thor's particular enemy is Jormungand, the enormous sea serpent who encircles Midgard, the world of human civilization. At one point in the mythical cycle, he tries to pull Jormungand out of the ocean while on a fishing trip, and is stopped only when his giant companion cuts the fishing line out of fear. Thor and Jormungand finally face each other during Ragnarok, however, when the two put an end to each other.
Given his ever-vigilant protection of the ordered cosmos of pre-Christian northern Europe against the forces of chaos, destruction, and entropy represented by the giants, it's somewhat ironic that Thor is himself three-quarters giant. His father, Odin, is half-giant, and his mother, variously named as Joro, Hlooyn, or Fjorgyn, is entirely of giant ancestry. However, such a lineage is very common amongst the gods, and shows how the relationship between the gods and the giants, as tense and full of strife as it is, can't be reduced to just enmity.
His activities on the divine plane were mirrored by his activities on the human plane (Midgard), where he was appealed to by those in need of protection, comfort, and the blessing and hallowing of places, things, and events. Numerous surviving runic inscriptions invoke him to hallow the words and their intended purpose, and it was he who was called upon to hallow weddings. (Evidence of this is preserved, amongst other places, in the tale of Thor Disguised as a Bride.) The earliest Icelandic settlers implored him to hallow their plot of land before they built buildings or planted crops.
Thor's hammer could be used to hallow as readily as it could be used to destroy - and, in effect, these two properties were one and the same, since any purification necessarily involves the banishing of hostile forces or elements. The blessing of weddings, for example, was effected through his hammer. Perhaps the most striking case of this, however, is his ability to kill and eat the goats that drive his chariot, gather their bones together in their hides, bless the hides with the hammer, and bring the animals back to life, as healthy and vital as before.
So, my life is not really much of a mess right now, and I always did regret leaving this the first time.
Name: Anil Zidane Age: 10 (Appears early 20's) Gender: Male Sexual Orientation: Asexual Parent God: Hanuman
Appearance: Anni is not a handsome man. He is tall, gangly man with long arms layered in muscle. His skin is near the color of copper, and his face is at least rather plain for his nose and above. It is merely when you look at his simian mouth full of sharpened teeth, or his monkey's tail that you realize his Vanara heritage. His hair/fur is all a slick brown, short on the sides on his head with bangs often kept over his forehead. He wishes a beard would cover his monkey's jaw, but the rest of him is almost unnecessarily hairy.
His clothing is a simple ash grey thermal shirt over a pair of black cargo pants with his tail shoved through the belt loops, and a crimson scarf to tie around his lower jaw when he's out in public. He carries no weapons, though the scraps and bruises on his knuckles show that he isn't used to them anyways.
Personality: Anni does not exactly feel blessed by his ancestry; Sure, his father was powerful. Beyond mortal comprehension, almost, but that does not change the way he is often treated by others. He is by his very nature brave and curious about the world around him, but he has been hardened into cynicism, too much to raise his voice much beyond a mutter. It takes a lot to truly fascinates him anymore. He can become very violent if he is mocked, and tends to keep to himself on matters, acting independently if he thinks a group decision is "Stupid." Still, he submits quickly to true gods, and is viciously loyal to those who stroke his ego or call him friend, everyone else is merely an idiot not worth the air they breath.
Power:Vanara Attributes- A gift and a curse from his heritage, he is far more agile and strong than a mere human, perhaps stronger than most demigods. He is also capable of changing the natural size of his body at will, though he can't add appendages or change appearance. However, the curse comes into play around the god Rama or Rama ancestor, accentuated by his father's relation to him. He simply must obey anyone related to the god, and will always be found on his knee, bowing deeply unless instructed otherwise.
Minor Attributes: Demon slaying- When fighting Rakshasa, or other malevolent spirits, Anni seems almost right at home, even before gaining his training. His nails and teeth seem to dig into their flesh easily, and their attacks bounce off the boy more often than not. More powerful spirits can certainly break through with ease, however. He applies the training as best he can, but it's clear he's only truly skilled against his specialty.
Fire Immunity- His father was able to nearly eat the sun itself, until struck by Indra's lightning. Even without the boon passed down, Anni is able to take quite a bit of heat. Magical fire will only hurt him half as much as well, though he is noticeably weak to magical lightning attacks.
Advanced Reading- Though not the most useful power on the go, his ability to speed read and retain knowledge is certainly noteworthy.
History: Anni was born in America, oddly enough. The circumstances of his birth is something he doesn't like to go into, despite remembering it all well. He was born of a tear that rolled down Hanuman's face, and took a single hair with it. The tear landed on the ground in the shape of a 5 year old boy, who was forced to find his own way in the city of San Francisco. All he had was a name. Yet, even with so little, he managed to survive on the streets for a months, learning of the world around him. Though, the other fine folk who called the streets their home were not quite sure how to act around the young boy. He was... odd. Circus-folk odd. The kind of odd that implied far more than his mother was also his aunt, he was supernatural, and he validated so much mental illness in his days. He was eventually forced to move once the populace believed him, to avoid being literally hunted like Bigfoot or Springheeled Jack. He roamed the country, with knowledge well beyond a little boy should know.
He grew up on the move, only once meeting one like him in the entire world! He was following a priest of Rama, one who hunted Rakshasa, who Anni felt compelled to follow. He had grown, over the time, and had begun to show the beginning signs of world weariness. Oddly, the same day he met the priest was the same day he found the world of evil spirits. He had to fight against a group of them, though he quickly outshone his brother. Especially when they were both set on fire, and of the two Vanaran only the superior Anni remained. He followed the Priest, some deep voice in his blood told him it was correct.
And he learned from him how to fight. He learned to mostly fight with his fist, to accommodate his powers, and he learned how to best take down spirits. He learned a lot of the world of gods and magic, as well, learning what true power was. He was quickly put into his place by true Demigods, true children rather than bastard offspring born of bodily functions, with abilities Anni could scarcely comprehend. Anni sank into something akin to depression, realizing how small he was, how pointless his existence was and would be. He was only brought deeper when he failed in his protection of the Priest. He ran from the demons, far away into a new land. He has had time to get over his grief, and has even begun to re enter the business of Demon-Hunting.
Late night sheet writing whoooo. Criticisms welcome.
I noticed a distinct lack of Indian representation, I figured this man could fix our little problem. I hope I am not too late to submit a sheet.
Name: Pratisodha, brother of Ravana and son of Kaikesi
Age: 13, though he has the body of a full grown man and is highly mature.
Gender: Male
Sexual Orientation: Omnisexual, though he prefers Asuras.
Parent God: Shiva is rumored to be his father, his mother is Kaikesi
Appearance: Unlike his brother Ravana, Pratisodha lacks the great number of heads as is befitting of an Asura king. Instead, Pratisodha is more reserved in appearance, with midnight blue skin as is Asura custom. He has pleasantly beautiful features and has shared many lovers. His hair waves in the air and his ears extend outward in a cone fashion. He has six arms, but they are contained within his two primary arms when outside of combat.
Pratisodha has two different colored eyes, one purple and the other orange. Though they both turn red when he is provoked, serious, or otherwise engaging in a not-so-playful manner. Pratisodha wears a large amount of jewelry and is quite likely to give it to those he finds attractive. One famous example of this was a few years ago when he fell for Bee and gave her an onyx blade. It is rumored that if she was to lose this, it would be her end.
Pratisodha also has two large wings which he can extend outwards. He dislikes doing so however, as he finds it uncivilized. He is typically found in suits and rarely dresses casually.
Personality: Pratisodha is ever formal, taught by the Asuras that he is the pinnacle of the divines' creation, he has held this standard to the highest degree. He treats all guests as family, tries to keep a warm presence and is resolute against enemies. That said, a darker side hides behind his facade and his carnal desires do take hold when allowed to. Ravana succumbed to his desires long ago with Sita, Pratisodha fears he may suffer the same fate.
Power: Pratisodha is a master transmuter. To him, form is simply a current, not a future. What is a rose can tomorrow be a violet or nightshade if that is what fate wills. He must turn things into like things, so he could not make pebbles into dragons, but he could turn tea into a poison, for example. He is discouraged from using his powers outside of rescuing those from harm, but he has an ego that Asuras share, so he does like to show off his powers on occasion.
It is also worth mentioning, and this applies to his minor attributes, if Pratisodha does for any reason, use his powers for combat other than in defense, or for justice, his title, his status as an Asura, his powers, his wealth, his beauty would all be stripped. It is worth noting that he can not be tricked into this, as the one who deceived him would be the one at fault, not him. Thus, he must be careful about abusing his powers, the deities are always watching.
Minor Attributes: Pratisodha is a master duelist, skilled in the classical gentlemen's games of archery, sword fighting and riding respectively. This was only appropriate for an Asura and he is almost unmatched in these areas. It is worth noting that he is particularly wealthy being a duke, though he never claimed his title and likely never will.
History: Pratisodha is related to Ravana, but that is relative, he never met Ravana and never will, Ravana died thousands of years before Pratisodha even was born. That said, Pratisodha is an Asura and was raised to be proud of it. He is a high class gentleman aristocrat and may as well live on another planet. Chivalry is far from dead, for his heart has enough room for it to grow, and it is indeed famous throughout India how he is known to be quite charming in public.
Pratisodha is openly enthusiastic about his encounters with humans and other divine beings. He finds them all equally amusing and worthwhile, sometimes taking random vagabonds off the street and inviting them for a good dinner. Lighthearted conversation follows with the vagabond leaving full and with a new set of clothes. Sometimes, if he takes a particular liking to the Vagabond, he might even take him into his home. What goes on there is largely unknown, even to other Asuras. None who have opted to stay in his home have ever left, and as such have never been seen again. Pratisodha does claim they are free to leave if they wish.
Edit: What in the...Ruedyn and I both made a sheet based on characters from the exact same book at the exact same time, but not only that, but we managed to do diametrically opposed factions on top of it.
Nice character; only issue I have is his birth and power. While it certainly fits Hindu mythology, I feel it's important to keep everyone's genealogical origins similar to avoid issues of whether you're a child or simply an extension of the God. As to your power, you seem to combine rudimentary shape-shifting and increased strength/agility beyond the realms of mortal capabilities with the only drawback being subservient to a small sub-set of Gods.
Wow, the coincidence of those two posts is...uncanny.
Anyway, good sheet! You're not too late, this won't be launched for some time, I just needed to send feelers out so I could organize the end of this arc. Just slightly confused; are the mortals he meets aware of his divinity? Also concerned about having dark blue skin; that's difficult to conceal; traveling would be...interesting.
Yes...that would work. Obviously it would revolve around Artemis as she is the goddess of the hunt, but Prail could have been a target of their wrath, and to hide her Woden had to do this.
Though this would call into question again how she knows of her former lives; I like that the savagery of her animal forms lingers, but having her retain the knowledge of being several animals seems to be too much for one...
Your minors seem strong enough, though feel free to tone them down to insert a power.

On the issue of hiding, the Asura class is like a French Aristocracy smack dab in India. They consider themselves superior to humans and are typically treated better. Be this the case, they are also incredibly proud of who they are and are unlikely to hide it. HOWEVER, if there was to come a good reason for him to hide, transmutation could easily change his appearence, just expect him to be reluctant to do this.

The character is really good, especially impressive using such little information on Woden. Can't blame you for that as you're not aware of the story. Are you able to compromise on this? I'm still cool with her being old and savage, just through another method?
Yeah man thats correct. Any serious injury that he gains using his fury ability, just ends up as a normal wound. Thats not overpowered or anything is it?
Sexual Orientation: Lesbian (Though she's never had a long-term relationship)
Parent God: Kali: Goddess of Time, Change, and Destruction
Appearance: Alicia's olive skin, brown eyes and dark brown hair mark her as having a distinctly East Indian heritage, though at about 5'7" she's a fair bit taller, and her thinner face speaks of a mixed ancestry. Some would consider her attractive...if she gave the slightest thought to it, but between her line of work, and her general 'tom boyishness' that's not happening any time soon. Physically she's trim and fit, but no sculpted muscles or anything. Her clothing tends to lean towards the practical; cargo pants, a good set of broken in boots, plain shirts...stuff like that. The only piece of jewellery she owns is a gold pendant with the tantra of Kali on it.
Generally she has a military surplus duffle bag with her containing clothes, a notebook or two, her camera, four sheathed talwar bound together, and various odds and ends.
Personality: Quiet by nature, Alicia is none the less a friendly and cheerful person. More than a bit of a tom boy, she's happiest outdoors exploring, taking photos and generally getting some dirt under her fingernails. She can be quick to anger at times, and once roused can be difficult to calm down until the offending party has been conclusively dealt with.
Power: [Avatar of Kali] As the Avatar of Kali, she undergoes a significant change. A whorl of fire surrounds her, blocking her from sight for a moment. When she emerges, she appears as the personification of her mother. While her height is unchanged, her skin is now a deep cobalt blue, her eyes are ruby red, her tongue is now long and pointed, generally lolling from her mouth, and she has a second set of arms. Her clothing also changes, though unlike her mother, she forgoes the severed limbs. Whatever she was wearing is replaced by a loose sari silk skirt that comes to about mid-thigh, and nothing else. Fortunately her previous attire seems to remain unharmed, and returns to her when she regains her human form.
In her hands she fights with the four talwar swords, a gift from her birth mother. Against purely mortal foes, her blades will pierce most anything outside of military grade vehicle armour; but against 'divine' armours, her weapons are no more effective than their mortal equivalent.
Talwar [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talwar]
While her mother can manipulate time itself, she has to make do with altering time in her immediate area. Against a foe, she can warp time around her, letting her move at fantastic speeds, and strike before her enemy realizes she's moved. While this is very effective against mortals at close range, she cannot press the ability beyond a hundred meters at best, and only lasts for about a minute in real time. It is also markedly less affective on demigods...even more so if their divine parent can control time as well. Lastly, due to the amount of power needed to manipulate time, when the 'bubble' she creates finally collapses, she loses her transformed state as well leaver her absolutely exhausted.
As befitting a demigoddess, most mortal weapons have little to no affect on her while she's transformed, though anti-armour weapons and up do give her some issues. Against a divine opponent she needs to be very careful, due to her total lack of armour.
While she's never discovered an upper limit to how long she can stay transformed, the longer she does, the more it fatigues her when she returns to normal. While being able to remain as an Avatar might seem great, a mostly naked, and four armed blue woman isn't exactly subtle; as well, she's much more impulsive while transformed, leading her to act on thoughts that might better be kept to herself.
Minor Attributes Ever Ready: Between her own outdoorsy upbringing, and possibly some help from her parentage, she has an impressive level of endurance that allows her to keep moving (and/or fighting for a long time).
Shutter Bug: A photographer's eye means she can be very good at picking out detail that others might miss.
Just a scratch: A boon of being a demigoddess is greatly improved vitality. While, as a normal woman, traumatic injuries are still a threat, the increased vitality means she never gets sick, or deal with the minor aches, pains, and other small annoyances that plague most of us.
History: Alicia was born somewhere in the Punjab region, though at the time nothing else was known about her as she was left at the door of an orphanage while still an infant. She lived there for a few months, until through a rather convoluted path, she was adopted by a young Canadian couple (She now suspects her birth mother had a hand in all that). She was then brought to Canada, and grew up on the West Coast, in the city of Vancouver. Her childhood was pretty standard, yes she knew from an early age she was adopted, but that was of little consequence. She loved being outdoors with her parents, going on hikes in the summer, skiing in the winter, and generally being a normal, if somewhat grubby, little girl. On her tenth birthday she was giving an old camera by her grandpa, and immediately fell in love with photography.
Just after her fifteenth birthday, her parent surprised her with the announcement that they were going on a trip to India. Alicia was excited, not only to see the country that she'd been born in, but because of the pictures she'd seen of the area; she wanted to take beautiful photos of her own. The trip there was long and relatively uneventful, but by the time they got to the hotel, even Alicia was beat. What caused her to awake, she still doesn't know, but at some point she awoke to find a four armed, dark skinned figure standing at the foot of her bed.
Now anybody else would've been shocked, to say the least, at such a sight, but Alicia knew at once that that was her birth mother. Now whether they were together for a minute or a thousand years, or if they spoke a million words in a million tongues or said nothing, she can't say; all she knows is that she woke in the morning knowing who and what she was, and that there were four swords laying beside her on the bed. Oddly enough then, as now, neither her parent nor anybody else ever seemed to be aware of the swords.
The rest of the trip went fantastically; she'd explore the land of her birth during the day, taking photos of anything that caught her eye, and by night she'd slip from the hotel to some quite spot and practice her new found gift. More often than not during the trip Alicia would be visited by her birth mother, sharing a million years in a second, talking without speaking. On her last night in India, Kali gave her the gold pendant before she left.
The next ten years were a bit of a blur. She threw herself into her photography even more, developing a reputation as a talented and fearless adventure photographer, especially for one so young, she 'came out' and had to deal with some backlash but was stronger, emotionally, for it. Add to that, graduating, moving out, and getting her first real photography gig left her with little time for a serious personal life.
Nowadays she travels the world as an independent photographer, selling her pictures to Reuters, the Associated Press, National Geographic, or anybody else who is interested. Most likely as a side effect of being the daughter of Kali, Alicia often finds herself drawn to areas of conflict. As to whom her father is? All Kali would say was that he was a great warrior, and a good man.
I'm closing this thread to any more submissions apart from those of you who messaged me. Will post accepted sheets in the near future - thanks everyone for the interest shown!
