The more disturbing question is what exactly the children were sold to. Could be three more poor souls trapped in sex slavery.

This didn't surprise me at all, I've seen enough articles in this vein to know exactly how dark the human heart can be. It was just a matter of time until it gets reported. It's just sad what addiction unchecked can drive someone to.

That's a nice story to go to bed to.

This isn't a moment where I'll call someone stupid. This isn't, to me, blind human stupidity. This is just...

I dunno.

I'm glad we agree on this.

The sad part is I know a couple on World of Warcraft that I dare say would sell their kid if it were legal. There's never a time where the kid ISN'T crying when they key their Ventrillo. But the guild never says anything about it (out loud)

Yakuza or another gang likely. Don't know about the boys so much, but once she grows up, the girls probably got a bright future in underage prostitution ahead of her now.
And yet she was sold for the lowest... I guess the Chinese still don't give much of a crap for female children. This whole thing is disgusting.

Well, I guess it was in the kids best interest: Even a sleazebag that would 'buy' a child has got to be a better parent than these 2 wastes of carbon.

Wonder what will happen now. You can't leave the kids where they are and I sure hope they aren't going to consider bringing them back to their real parents. Well, like I said, wherever they go is bound to be an improvement.

What? I don't even... what? Seriously, how stupid can you get? I just hope the kids end up in places where they are better taken care of.

Stop the planet, I want off. Seriously, though, I think those people are only playing dumb in an effort to avoid being charged.

Because a few people have asked, allow me, with the help of the Mighty Wikipedia, to clear something up:

China's birth control policy, known widely as the one-child policy, was implemented in 1979 by the Chinese government to alleviate the overpopulation problem. Having more than one child is illegal and punishable by fines. Voice of America cites critics who argue that it contributes to forced abortions, human rights violations, female infanticide, abandonment and sex-selective abortions, believed to be relatively commonplace in some areas of the country.[69] This is thought to have been a significant contribution to the gender imbalance in mainland China, where there is a 118 to 100 ratio of male to female children reported.[70][71][72] Forced abortions and sterilizations have also been reported.[73][74]
It is also argued that the one-child policy is not effective enough to justify its costs, and that the dramatic decrease in Chinese fertility started before the program began in 1979 for unrelated factors. The policy seems to have had little impact on rural areas (home to about 80% of the population), where birth rates never dropped below 2.5 children per female.[75] Nevertheless, the Chinese government and others estimate that at least 250 million births have been prevented by the policy.[76]
In 2002, the laws related to the One-child policy were amended to allow ethnic minorities and Chinese living in rural areas to have more than one child[citation needed]. The policy was generally not enforced in those areas of the country even before this. The policy has been relaxed in urban areas to allow people who have single children to have two children.[77]
They don't throw you in jail for having more than one child. They simply fine you. It still is not right mind you, but it isn't as bad as some make it out to be.

Wait...what? No. Just no. First of all, I want to know what happened to those kids, and second, is it that hard to find a FUCKING ORPHANAGE?! If I find this on Fox News, God help us all.

Ok, seriously people: There's this little thing called adoption...if you don't want to look after your spawn after going through all the damned trouble of bringing them into the world, take them to an orphanage. Ok, yeah, it ain't the BEST solution but...atleast they get looked after and considering half of the deplorable methods i've seen of people trying to get rid of their children and atleast they get looked after. Let me repeat this one more time for you all, don't sell your child into slavery, don't kill them, don't dump them in a river. Just, take them down to the local orphanage and place them there to be cared for by them.
You don't get paid for adoption. They had kids on purpose. So they could sell them......
I don't like China very much....
Not that other places aren't just as bad.
Also, the "orphanages" in China (especially for girls) are not much better for the kids than being alone.

Wow, 4 pages of comments and not a single post from what I've seen has brought racial stereotypes into this. Not surprised that someone did this, people have done similar things for drugs or other things all over the world.
