I don't believe in chivalry in its original form. Instead, the same principles of being respectful to each other and minding your manners in the company of others should just be upheld by everyone, regardless of gender.
Yes, it's nice to feel like someone is looking out for you sometimes (I'm female) but really, I'm not going to judge you if I have to get the door myself or you keep your hat on. Hell, I'm guilty of that last one most of the time.
Chances are, if I'm paying proper attention to your attitude towards me then we're probably already acquainted, most likely even friendly, and at that point there's so many other factors to your personality to consider. Unless you're being a total asshole, chances are, I won't mind.
