I was watching the Apprentice Final the other day and they had to do a whole branding thing for a new box of chocolates, and when they were out doing their market research it was suggested that men do not like chocolate really.
Now to me that's insane. I love chocolate, when it comes to desserts I would always pick something that was mainly chocolate over anything else, and with sweets I would most of the time pick something which involved chocolate over non-chocolate sweets. I especially like dark chocolate (favourite's 70%), and my sister even bought me some 100% chocolate, which while nice was not particularly enjoyable, you start to lose the actual chocolate taste.
So, my question to you, is do you like chocolate? And would chocolate be your first choice of dessert/sweet or is it just a thing to have every now and again?
And as a secondary question, for Americans mainly, do you think that Hershey's chocolate is better than European chocolate (i.e. Cadburys, Nestle, Bournville, Lindt etc.)? It seems from my limited experience that most Americans do prefer European chocolate, but I know some that do prefer Hersheys.
And can anyone explain why Hershey's are incapable of making nicer tasting chocolate. I mean surely it can't be that difficult, considering the many different brands you can get in Europe that all taste slightly different but all nice. I went over to America in about 2000, and I've also been brought back some a couple of times when my Mum's gone over, and it's alright but I wouldn't really want it often.
