Part of me is actually kinda surprised John Cleese hasn't been brought up yet. That could be hilarious.

On a serious note, I'd probably go with Keith David. Much like Morgan Freeman, I could just about listen to him read the phone book and not be bored.

No mention of Paul Bettany? FOR SHAME....Hell he already voices one of my current favorite AIs as Jarvis...He could make the Ghost another favorite!

Nicholas Cage.

Why?

1) He would be great value for money, the guy is probably desperate for paying gigs atm. Chances are his schedule is a lot more open and flexible then other VAs too, especially some of the big names already mentioned.

2) Like Christopher Walken, Cage is the kinda guy that can infuse some personality into even the most dead of roles, just by being himself. OP says that destiny will now have a great script but I think that's cheating, if the game had great story and script we might as well not be talking about Destiny but some completely different game then.

3) Most people wouldn't expect, probably least of all Cage himself, which would probably be a good thing as will contribute to the unorthodoxy of his performance.

Common picks between all of us are: Samuel L. Jackson, Vin Diesel, Tim and Eric, Gilbert Gottfried, Flavor Flav, DMX.
I second Sam L, but can we have him as his Ninja Ninja version from Afro Samurai? I just see that as so beautifully different from Dinklage's performance.

And like Frankster said, Nicholas Cage can bring some fun to any role. Or Brian Blessed.
If you are dead set on a serious actor, well, Patrick Stuart's had some decent showings in Video games...

Liam Neeson... mostly because of his voice...

Other than that, Ryan Reynolds... mostly because I like his voice...

Me: Oh hey, this seems like a fun thread. I'll bet no one says Gilbert Gott-

In case you didn't know, Peter Dinklage is no longer the voice of Ghost from Destiny. His lines from the base game will be re-recorded with Nolan North (a guy who probably voices a character in at least three games you own) and from now on all Ghost dialogue in future DLCs will have Nolan's voice.

Not harping on Nolan in anyway, I think he's a great VA, that's why he's appeared in so many games (either that or he's cheap to bring on) and hell, it's not his fault he keeps getting type cast as a generic male character.

Everyone knows Ghost's dialogue was crappy, and everyone who's smart knows it wasn't his fault but instead the script itself. So let's say Bungie changed the script to something that's much better so any VA can work with it. Let's give Bungie an infinite budget for this scenario as well, so that they can hire anyone and have them continue do the voice of Ghost for the entirety of Destiny's life.

Now to the question. Instead of Nolan North, who would you have voice Destiny's Ghost? The actor doesn't have to be male and doesn't have to be a celebrity or even an actor of any sort. It can genuinely be a good answer or it could be a funny one.

For my choice? Fuck it, I'll go with Stamper (of BattleBlock Theatre fame).
If it were Stamper I'd take back everything I ever said about Destiny and actually put it in my console and play it and totally disregard and forgive the horrible story and lack of content!

I'm sorry I don't see Nolan pulling off the mysterious and curious robot voice. His history doesn't really show that from what I remember. (do correct me if I'm wrong because Nolan does a great job with plenty of characters) But generally Nolan is the cocky character, I thought his voice was an odd pick for Spec Ops because he literally sounded like a toned down Drake. Deadpool was okay because at the time he was THE ONLY voice of Deadpool.

What about Peter Cullen (Optimus Prime) hell Anthony Daniels (c3po) Tim Dadabo (343 Guilty Spark) OR OR OR! what if the skin you purchase (because Destiny is doomed to have you buy skins for an ungodly amount of money (20 bucks for an emote... really?)) came with a different voice? because I found no problems with Peter Dinklage and I think he was fine as is!

Oh, man. I'd love to hear that. That would completely change the tone of the game, probably for the better.

If he were still with us, I'd say Robin Williams for the sole reason of Robin Williams, but since he's gone I'd have to say Elias Toufexis. Because Jensenbot would be funneh :3

I just knew someone else would have suggested it.
Seconded.

This is the man who can make '50 shades of grey' tolerable in his reading.
