Alright! You don't know how it started, but you're now at your last stand on a blood-stained battlefield. You've slayed dozens, maybe hundreds, but now its looking bleak.

You will die here.

So tell me Escapists: where are you as this is happening?

Lets stay in our realm; on our Earth. Where are you meeting your inevitable and fast-approaching end?
You assume quite a lot. Not all of us are Animal Mother.

My hometown, in PA. A Brutal band of militants pass through during a period of unrest occurring during the second American Civil War.

Taking on a platoon by myself in Times Square while "Sick of People" by World/Inferno Friendship Society plays in the background.

In three weeks President Obama is going to admit that the Plutonians are beating us and the war can no longer be kept secret.

One week after that I will die in orbit around Mars. Because when your cruiser's last gun explodes from over heating and you have no missiles left, there is only one option left and it rhymes with 'Haming speed'.

Philippines, where I belong. It will be one ridiculous last stand, where I in fact managed to kill everything the opposing force could send my way (and perhaps more), though I was fatally wounded halfway through the slaughter. As the last person falls to my balisong, I will shout something ridiculous, such as: "I took drugs and killed a bear, all the while two bears high-fiving!" And then I will bleed out.

Internet high-five if you got any of those references.

Was going to say that you never truly die in Valhalla, but this has to be real...
I guess, my final acts are to be re-enacting a Cowboy Bebop-esque suicide run, with getting shot in the end, and having a couple minutes of philosophical thought regarding how life didn't feel real and such, before leaving this plane to transcend to Valhalla.
My Thoughts Exactly! I can't think of a better way to go out.

Bang.

The Solomon Islands, 1942.

It's night, the only illumination comes from the flash of guns, the blinding stabs of searchlights and the glow of burning ships. I'm standing on the shattered bridge of a US Navy destroyer - the last salvo has been fired and the survivors scramble over the railing as the ship begins its plunge to the warships graveyard known as Iron Bottom Sound.

Upon an orbital platform high above Earth, clutching my Gauss Rifle as another wave of alien invaders begin their attack. My weapon is flashing low ammo and power, and there is no hope of resupply or reinforcement. This is the end, but I am going to hold the line. Every alien that falls here is one less to touch the soil of Earth. I may fall, but Earth shall not.

So once more unto the breach, for you can take our lives, but you shall never take our home!

Thermopylae... There is no other place in History on Earth to die with more Honor than at the place Democracy, in it's infant form, learned to walk.
Haha... Sparta? Democracy? Sparta was one of the world's first real oppressive states, complete with it's own massive slave underclass called Helots who literally had no rights (any of the upperclass could kill them if they just wanted to) and they had the world's first eugenics program.

OT: Defending a group of children against an attacking force, doesn't matter which as long as they're evil. Or possibly wrestling a shark.

Some incredibly epic three way ship battle in the ocean some where in the 1700s, during a thunderstorm, with dragons, and everyone has plasmids...also Megalodon...and mechanically augmented dinosaurs having a giant laser battle on a nearby coastline. AWESOME!

On the bridge of the ironclad, Thunderchild, having just destroyed a martian to be cut down by the heat ray of another.
At least there'd be a good soundtrack =D

All the City States participated in the Battle of Thermopylae in one way shape or form. And YES, Sparta WAS a democratic Society, as was ALL the City States. With the King only really having power over the Military and Religious affairs. Also judicial maters as well. But the King was limited in power, with major decisions having to go through there "senate". Much like the Office of the President, in the current democratic nation known as America.

By your logic America isnt a Democracy, we had slavery, and some believe in Eugenics. The Roman Republic had Slaves and a priveledged upper-class. Yet they were still a democracy.

If Greece would have fallen to the Persians, Democracy could have possibly never survived (considering at the time, there were no other democracies (except for a young Roman Republic)
