I was sitting and talking with my girlfriend yesterday, conversing about our favorite video games. She asked me a question in which I honestly couldn't really answer until i sat and thought about it. the question being "What do you think your favorite video game character would be doing if they weren't out saving the world, or the universe"? I had to sit and think about it but i came to the conclusion that Rikimaru (From the Tenchu series) would probably be a lawyer, seeing as he does everything by the book, and also wants to rid the world of "evil".

I want to ask you all the same thing;

"What do you think your favorite video game character (Hero or Villain) would be doing if they weren't out saving/Destroying the world, or the universe"?

I can't believe I'd never thought about my favourite game character until just now...

But off the top of my head, I guess that Samus Aran would be struggling to get over her shit life, and John Marston would be robbin' banks and killin' motherfuckers. That's what he does, that's how he rolls. And Link would be chilling with the Kokiri, or whomever he's initially associated with in his various incarnations.

They're not my favourite characters, but they're the first I thought of.

Ok so maybe a silent protagonist isn't the best choice of character but I can't bring myself to choose a favorite.

But if that's a requirement...hmm...

I guess Orta from Panzer Dragoon Orta (since I can't think of another world-saving character I felt a connection with right now). She'd most likely either just flee from people and go all Riddick in isolation, or would try and find some people affected by war and try to help in an attempt to prove herself as not a threat.

I don't think she'd have much of a 'normal' life available to her, but she'd keep trying for it anyway.
