Truly one of the greats, a modern day Renaissance man. He lived a long, full life that the rest of us could only dream of experiencing.

Godspeed, Sir Christopher. You will be missed.

An impressive actor and a man with an equally impressive war record. Sir Christopher Lee a life thoroughly lived, SOE, SAS, trained opera singer, actor and heavy metal vocalist. In a normal life you get to do one of those things, all of them is a spectacular life. We shall not see his like again.
Apparently, during filming LotR, Jackson wanted a death scene redone, and Lee pointed out that he knew what someone dying from being stabbed in the back sounded like from personal experience.
He was the only one involved with the movies that had actually met J.R.R. Tolkien in person too. Apparently Tolkien gave him his blessing to play Gandalf if they ever committed his books to film. Personally, I think he wound up being better suited to Saruman, but that could just be me typecasting him since he was so good at playing villains.

Either way, he was by all accounts a pretty amazing guy and he damned sure lived a full life. So good for him, and I wish him luck in the next one, wherever that may be and whatever form it may take.

He also apparently was good friends with Ian Flemming, the man who wrote the James Bond books. They played golf together. I am gonna miss this man, his characters were some of the most memorable I've ever seen.

R.I.P. Sir Christopher Lee, no one will ever be able to take your place.

I was already depressed by this, but the more I read about this dude just depresses me even more. Loved him as Ansem the Wise and Saruman, and knew of his parts as Count Dooku and Dracula, then I read even more about him. Being a WW2 spy, knowing J.R.R. Tolkien personally and even spoke Elvish fluently enough to surprise even Peter Jackson, being a heavy metal singer, being the god damn inspiration for Bond himself on top of being one of the better villains for him, and so many other things that I'm positive that I didn't know about. Christ almighty.

Sir Christopher mother's second marriage was to Ian Fleming's uncle.

Yeah, I had also read that he knew Ian Fleming personally as well.
