Oh, gods. That must have been terrible for them.
...So why am I laughing so much?!

OT: I don't think a kid would get scarred for life. When Final Destination 1 came out, it shocked me for a while but I got over it. Sure, I hate the movie now and I admit it's not scary at all. But still, it's nothing more than a mild bad experience. It's not like everyone got raped at the theater or something.
Don't get me wrong. I understand why they're upset. I'd be too. But come on, don't blow that out of proportion.

You need help, Professional help.

OT: I like too remind people that only a few short centuries ago, children were exposed too everything in life, the good, bad, evil, pure. BUT...

With that said. Really? I mean, I suppose it is possible that the film was in the wrong can, but still even that mistake is really stupid. I would be in great favor of the theater paying for therapy for everyone. I mean, those kids will have nightmares for months too come.
You're the one that needs professional help, if you think accidentally seeing a scene from a C-grade horror movie warrants therapy.

Huh. That seems like something I would do. Well, you know what they say. A little childhood trauma builds character.

That must have been hilarious to see. XD

I'll bet you it wasn't an accident and the person who played the film just wanted to a laugh. Either that or he needed to vent his frustrations.

But yeah, I never really understood how Paranormal Activity is scary. Sure, it made me jump a few times due to jump scares, but that was it really.

My mom is terrified of those movies though. :/

Enough to scare them for life? How fuckin' weak are kids today? They'll get over it in less than a week you fuckin' imbecile.

Also, this wasn't a technical error. I bet someone did this on purpose. And I applause the person that did it.

Well, at least they got their start in horror with something about as scary as Ghostbusters. Good to ease the kids into it, y'know?

"The cinema needs to check the film before sending everyone in so they don't make this mistake again."

TO EVERYONE DISMISSING THE "SCARRED FOR LIFE" STATEMENT:

The guy who designed Giygas, the destroyer of childhoods, based it off his recollections of a violent and horrific scene he had accidentally seen in a theater as a child.

Check and mate.
Wasn't that because he watched an entire, extremely graphic rape scene?

Apparently the trailers for mature rated movies (as opposed to the kind they tend to show for kids films) and the announcement before the film started saying, which film was playing wasn't enough for them to notice and notify a member of staff.

I'm laughing soooooo hard :) They should let the young ones see the movie! I mean, it's all anti-bullying, tolerance and love bullshit nowadays, kids are all growing strange and weak, at least the scare would grow them some balls. When I was their age (well, somewhere around 5-7 years old) I would watch not only the obvious Disney and Looney Tunes, but also Robocop, Terminator and my favorite back then PREDATOR. Not tha Paranormal Activity is any good or sacry at all though, but it would have a funny impact on kids hahahaha.

I think its kinda hilarious. All manner of things I imagine them doing or saying in those few scant seconds.

Back OT. I bet that in a few months or so, we (for those who do) will read an entry on "Work Sucks" (College Humor) detailing a situation where an employee was unjustly fired followed by switching the tags on two films before they left.

You couldn't be more wrong if you tried. Bullying is a universal issue. Adults experience it too but it's called workplace harassment. On the other hand, I'm sure the kids were scarred by the fact that they were watching a terrible movie rather than a scary one. Even as a parent I'd be laughin while consoling my kid by telling him that I'll show him a REAL scary movie some day and PA us just schlock.

5 year old Darryl: WAAAH! THIS IS SHIT! THIS IS HORRIBLE! WHY MOMMY?! YOU KNOW I ONLY WATCH AVANT GARDE INDIE FILMS!

Something related to Paranormal Activity?

QUICK, EVERYONE POST HOW THEY DON'T FIND THESE MOVIES SCARY!!

*sigh*

You know, i already got that when everyone wrote it in the comments of PA2 Reviews...

On Topic:

As a parent i'd be annoyed, but as myself i am highly amused. Only thing that'd be funnier is to insert that scene into the actual Madagascar 3 copy.
But yeah, scarred for life? Unlikely.

Then again, german kids do get trained on this shit by TV

(Yes, this was shown in regular commercial blocks), even though i think starting at 7 or 8 PM)

Also, people tend to forget that most kids actually really like the scary stuff.

Nope, actually.

Just strangulation and dismemberment.

The best part is that you say this in this thread.

ITT: Bodies slamming the camera is a mild annoyance and comical doll faces are the most terrifying thing ever.

(Not aimed at you, just an observation of this thread.)

For you good sir.

I'm glad I'm not alone. :D
Dude I love your avatar Charles Bronson in Death Wish is the shit.

OT: Unfortunate, but not horrible. Like one of the dudes above me, it surprises me that no one caught this during the trailers for adult movies. I don't think it is funny like some of the other posters above me as well. It isn't cool going into what is supposed to be a family friendly environment and having that happen. Also, don't they have people check before they screen it?
