I hated the trailer, I saw Darren Shan talk about the movie, the screenwrites have cut and added their own scenes, and have shorten'd 3 books into 1 movie.

Not true. Location is intentionally left ambiguous. I think, in the very first chapter of the first book, he plainly says that he is not going to say what country he is in.

He doesn't mention the country, but it's some where in europe, when the Curator of Cirque du freak asks; 'are you boys 18?' you know it's not in the US. Beyond that Since Shan lives in Ireland, and was born in UK, it's almost cvertain he's base is storys in the places he grew up in.


I think this movie will flop, if demonata is made into a movie series i hope Darren doesn't let the producers change anything, 'cos how would you do lord loss, without the horrible maiming in chapter 2?

Yes I do think it will suck, I just can't understand why they would get John C. Reily who is a comedian to be the vampire. I also think it will be another cliche vampire movie which everyone is sick of.

yeah i don't understand that choice either... kinda annoying.
I doubt it will suck, but it probably won't be all too great either.

It will probably suck, but I hope that they at least portray Darren as weird as he is. Although, John C. Reilly is a weird pick for the vampire.

Kind-of true. I went to a 'see-an-author-speak' kind of thing, and Shan pretty much admitted that it took place in Ireland. He said that he based the place he lived on his hometown with his - he is Irish, and grew up in Ireland.

It's a movie that includes vampires, it's going to suck. Case in point : Twilight.

Well you see I loved the books, they where the first 'non school' books I ever read all thous years ago and since then I have not been able to put books down (which can sometimes be a problem when I driving) so part of me really does want to see this and Im prayin to what even God will listen that it turns out good, and from what I have seen so far I dont have to worry // My only problem is the casting as the main vampire // I always pictured Vincent Schiavelli as him but whats done is done

I don't like the look of it, I was looking forwards to a film version of it, but now not so much.
