I've never even heard of this series until I saw the trailer. So, just based off of the preview...yes, it will suck. It looks sorta like Twilight, but a comedy for guys, maybe. I'm not sure. It'll probably suck.

vampires allways suck(har har) and the point with vampires in books and movies, is that they should be sexy, but not in the way that for example twilight shows them. Vampires are suppose to reflect our deepest sexual desires, and that's why many fear them. Vampires should allways have a sence of dark eroticm to them, and that's why they are as hated as they are loved.

Just a tip to future vampire use. Vampires aren't supposed to be lovers or monsters, they are symbols of our primal lust

Okay, I've never read the books (or heard of them before these films, mostly because I haven't read kids/teens' book in quite some time), but the movie trailer makes me grimace. John C. Riley. As a vampire. Why? Seriously, why? Twilight really started this recent wuss-ification of the vampire, and this movie looks to continue that dumbing down a myth that should be about sex and violence and death. So I'm not looking forward to the film, nor will I be seeing it.

I still have hopes for it. I'll just have to put the fact that the books were completely awesome out of my mind and try to watch it as a movie instead of a book adaptation. I also have some qualms about the squishing three books into one movie. One hour(ish) for one book each is nowhere near enough for the proper sequence of events or character development. One more thing: what's with the mandatory love interest!? That's what I hate most about movies. It's like they always cut and paste these random girls in there just because it follows convention.

Yes I do think it will suck, I just can't understand why they would get John C. Reily who is a comedian to be the vampire. I also think it will be another cliche vampire movie which everyone is sick of.

Dude, don't remember John C. for his crappy roles in Step Brothers and Talledaga Nights, he has done many great serious roles, Gangs of New York comes to mind. But your right about the movie sucking, it seems everyone is trying to cash in on the Twilight fans now.

I talked to him about it and he said the movie was more "Inspired" by the books then based on them.
In other words, it will suck.
