I'm not a fan of having to pay to play a game I've already bought, but I've been wanting to get into an MMOG so that I have something to do when I have nothing else. Because I have a mac, I'm very restricted with my options. After looking through the available games, I decided that City of Heroes would be something that won't get old with me (for a while, at least). I just want to know if this is a good option. If not, please tell me something that would be better.

I wouldn't worry, Most of the games out that are 85+ on Metacritic you can get for Mac and PC. City of Heros is a decent RPG as So I've heard. What other games are you interested in?

I?m pretty sure they do a free trial for CoH. Yes the game is getting dated and yes the missions can be repetitive, but I have had more fun playing this MMORPG than any other. The game seems to favour team play over solo, if that?s some thing that matters to you.

It's actually pretty fun, but you will need to invest some time into it. The character customization is amazing (to the point that most people just snap under pressure and make some of the worst costumes you've seen or recreate a game character, breaking the ToS in the process). This makes it feel much more like you're part of a world full of individuals rather than different colored versions of the same person wearing a different outfit. The combat is fluid and somewhat enjoyable, especially for an MMORPG. Given that it does have a subscription cost, I don't play it too much these days, but occasionally, I'll pick up some time and jump right back in.

I played it a long time ago, but my pc couldn't run it too well. It was fun though.
You could also give champions online a try. It's by the same developers... basicly just an upgraded version.
