I'm in a clan on Xbox Live, but it really has fallen from that uber competitive mode when it began back in 2008. Having a common clan tag is great to make sure everyone got into a game, or when racing to see who you should draft with, etc. We always get asked if we are on Gamebattles or whatever it is, and it is a resounding "no." Most of our members are in the military, so we never have EVERYONE, and the exact number of members is sketchy too. We don't take the actual clan very seriously, but we take its premise seriously. People who take competitive online gaming and clans too seriously are weird.
