For two weeks in a row, he has sparked controversy.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/celebritynews/3418749/Jeremy-Clarkson-sparks-viewer-complaints-in-new-Top-Gear-row.html

Now, do people watch this man just to find a complaint?

I reckon half the people who complained didn't even see it, just read about it and complained, like the Ross/Brand thing.
Complaining is the in thing it seems, Simon Amstell's Hutchence joke didn't go down well either.

The BBC made a huge mistake by caving in on the Ross/Brand thing. I agree that it was in bad taste but Sachs didn't seem to mind too much. However they gave in to the complainers and now they think they can pull down any show they want by flooding the BBC with letters about how offensive show x was without them even watching it.

Why do we even care? Why should we give him the media attention that he's clearly seeking?

The only reason I posted it here, is because I didn't feel anyone here was stupid enough to cave into mass media.

It was more of an existentialist question, like 'Why are we here?', 'What's the point in anything?' and 'Is Iron Ninja's real name Nigel?'

I know, it's unprecendented for the presenter of a popular television show to seek attention from the media. Who the hell does this guy think he is?

Out of interest, did you actually find out what he's in trouble for, or did you just assume that it was his fault? He made a joke, and gave an American policeman the fingers. Top Gear is disparaging towards lorry drivers and policemen all the time, often in poorer taste. This is just plain ludicrous.

People actually read the telegraph?

I'm prety sure that the incident in question was staged, as is most of top gear.

Also do the people who have complained actually watch top gear? Worse things than this happen all the time.

I'm gonna say the latter because I really can't be bothered wading through all the crap to find out that this is another 'scandal' over absolutely nothing. But Clarkson does say contraversial things in order to draw attention to himself, he's famous (infamous?) for it.

That episode was brilliant. If you listen carefully, you'll hear a snippet of what I believe to have identified as part of Frank Klepacki's Hell March, which adds +5 to coolness.
I though I recognised it, I've heard quite a bit of C&C music in Top Gear actually...how strange

The most used music in Top Gear is the song "Jessica" for obvious reasons, a lot of Oasis songs are used in the show aswell. These are requested by Clarkson and Hammond, May doesn't chose music.

Who gives a crap, hes racist all the time and no body notices, then suddenly he makes one hurtful comment about (apparently) emotionally vulnerable Truckers and Hookers and everyones up in arms.

Indeed you did hear it. I heard it too, my Dad had no clue what Red Alert was or why I was so excited...

This is Jeremy clarkson, offending people is what he does. To the rest of us born with half a working brain he's just good infantile fun.
