It's true though, he is a one-eyed Scottish idiot. The only problem is that is offensive to half blind people, the Scottish, and idiots. On reflection, although I don't know anyone who is blind, I do respect them greatly, I know several idiots who I actually like, and I happen to love Scottish girls (and Irish, for that matter) . Seriously though, I also have friends from Scotland. Don't see why Jeremy Clarkson's getting stick though, he's describing what the rest of us Brits think, and anyway he's not as bad as Russel Brand or Jonathan Ross...

BBC television presenter Jeremy Clarkson has apologised for calling British Prime Minister Gordon Brown a "one-eyed Scottish idiot".

I don't see the problem. Everything Jezza said was a truth (bar the idiot thing; that's just opinion).

Gordon Brown is blind in one eye and is Scottish...how is that insulting the Scots or blind people? Did Jezza say all blind/Scots were idiots? No, he said that Gordon Brown, a Scottish, one-eyed man, was an idiot.

Nothing more, nothing less.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinions as long as your opinion is the one that follows the BBC's, the governments, and every group in the country.

Yes, I agree it was out of line, but I don't think it's worth the media frenzy that has ensued.

It reminds me of the Jonathon Ross disaster. They should have just apolagized and left it at that but it's like a red rag to media sensationalism. The only person they insulted was Andrew Sachs in that case.

(As a sidenote It turned out the girl in question that Brand claimed to have slept with did sleep with him, and then sold her story to the newspaper about how upset she was while posing in lingerie...)
