It was on MSN News this morning that Clarkson apologised for calling him Scottish and One-eyed, maintaining that this is simply a fact. However, he said he would never apologise for calling him an idiot (round of applause).
Clarkson has a decent sense of humour and is one of many recent British comedians who touch on subjects that may be offensive but are still funny. Other recent examples are Alan Carr, Jimmy Carr or Justin Lee Collins. This is different to the deliberately crude and offensive things said by people like Russel Brand and Jonathan Ross, who are simply out to cause offence and get cheap laughs from it. Many people I have heard from Scotland are not offended by what Clarkson said, and I would imagine the same is true of blind or half blind people (no matter what the authorities and blind charities and so on say).
