Also, Contra III for SNES, MGS and Crash Bandicoot 2 for PS1.

Shenmue is fantastic, but be prepared to be left unsatisfied as they still have not given closure to the story and probably never will.

In PS1ville try Hogs of War. It was among my favourite games when it was out. Also, I would suggest Team Buddies but I think it's kinda rare now...

Shenmue
Shenmue 2
Skies of Arcadia
You will have at least 150 hours of pure bliss with those three gems.

Wow.. I hadn't taken to considering the PS1 a "classic" console. I guess it's just the "new generation" that considers it classic.

If you want a good game for the PS1, though, look for Galerians. Annoying, fun, and you get the make people explode with your mind.

MDK2 (an early BioWare title - tough as hell, but fun and hilarious. What other game can you play as a mad scientist who throws radioactive toast at your enemies?)

Soul Calibur

Marvel vs Capcom 2
