I have owned the following

Commodore 64 (tape)
Atari 2600
Amiga 500
Sega Master System
Nes
Nintendo Gameboy
SNES (still own)
Sega Megadrive (still own)
Sega Saturn (still own)
PSX (still own)
N64 (still own)
Dreamcast (still own)
PS2 (still own)
Xbox (still own)
Xbox 360 (still own)
and am soon to get a PS3

Out of the older consoles I play the Dreamcast the most. Occasionally I'll fire up an Amiga or C64 emulator to relive the classics.

the oldest console I have is a Sega Master System mark 2, I didn't have many games for it but R-type was fun! It still works today, but the controller is a bit stiff

i grew up on the old-school dos games.

like commander keen and cosmo and whatnot.
Wow, I thought I was the only one alive who remembered cosmo. I just recently (last week) have been going through all those old games and beating them. All the Cosmo episodes, duke, duke 2, raptor: call of the shadows, Mystic Towers.

Its kind of sad to think that most of the gamers today not only haven't heard of these gems, but have no interest in playing them to see how it all started.

Aside from MS-DOS, my first console was an N64, although before that my brother had an Atari (which I fried by plugging the power cord into the headphones jack) and a Gamegear (which I ran over with my bike). My first game was Diddy Kong Racing, I was convinced that if I beat all the developers' high scores (shown after the credits) I could unlock some super-secret, hidden track.

My first console was the NES, its one of the only memories i have of my old house. i hated that damn dog on duck hunt, but loved shooting the ducks (a real duck once bit me and stole my pizza).

It's this way with music, too. I don't find many people my age around here who are into Black Sabbath or Pink Floyd.
i love Sabbath and Pink Floyd, i even own an original vinyl copy of Darkside of the Moon.

The original Nintendo is how far I go back, but I think the Super Nintendo is what really hooked me onto video games. Specifically with Secret of Mana, which I still count as one of the greatest RPGs I've ever played.

I remember playing the Sega Master System and the NES, but the one that I consider the classic console is the PC Engine. Parodius, Parasol Stars and Galaga 90 were all done best right there.

The question is, do any of you rich kids have a NEO GEO system, and next, how much $$$ would convince you to part with it?

I've had a NES, Master System, Original Game Boy, SNES, PS1, PS2, Nintendo 64, Gamecube, DS and Wii.
My favorite is the SNES. The golden age of 2D JRPG's.

The first I ever got was a SNES. Spent tons of time lounging about with friends, and getting our asses handed to us by Donkey Kong. Funny enough, I had Mario, but found it paled in comparison with DK.

Unfortunately, I no longer have the girl as I had to give it away to cousins when I got my PS2. Which is my oldest console still in possession.

I guess my firsts were Atari 2600 and Colecovision (sp?). Many days were wasted on Frogger and Pitfall. *sigh*
