I think I put the most childhood hours into Goldeneye for N64 but it was the original Doom that started my love for FPS. Ahh the memories.

Not sure how old a game has to be to qualify as classic, but Hostile Waters was always one of my all-time favorites (aka Antaeus Rising).

I don't think any RTS has made me get so attached to my squaddies. It also had some of the best voice acting of any game I've ever played.

Tetris, the old Sonic games, Final Fantasy VII, Pokemon Red/Blue, Mutant League Football, the Original Crash Bandicoot game, and Rogue Squadron. All so very epic.

Toe Jam and Earl (genesis)- wierd game that is incredibly fun and hilarious. Beware the people stampede! And the bees. and the stormclouds, and falling off the world to the one below and... so many other things!

Earthbound (SNES)

Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest (SNES)- Just perfect on all fronts; gameplay, musice, level design, controls, game length, and difficulty.

Star Fox 64- the reason I bought a N64.

Yoshi's Island

Super Mario World

Street Fighter 2 Turbo

Metal Gear Solid

Star Craft + Brood Wars

ah, so many...

Im not going to name mine im just going to quote it instead

"Die Monster! You dont belong in this world!"
"It was not by my hand that I was once again given flesh... I was brought here by HUMANS!!! who wish to pay ME tribute!"
"Tribute?! You steal mens souls and make them your slaves!"
"Perhaps the same could be said of all religions..."
"Your words are as empty as your soul! Mankind ill needs a savior such as you!"
"WHAT IS A MAN!" *glass shatter* "A miserible little pile of Secrets!
But enough talk... HAVE AT YOU!!!!"

My favorite old school game of all time? Secret of Mana. =] Probably is my all time favorite, actually...
Absolutely love that game. The multiplayer aspect to it was awesome.
