Alright members of the Escapist. I am always on the look out for more music for my iPod. I've done a few requests before for this, and everytime I get a flood of good suggestions. I now come to you for a request of classic rock.

Now, my playlist for classic rock already consists of 70 songs, but I still want more. So please members of the Escapist, point me in the direction of some new material and some new bands that would suit this desire.

Blue Oyster Cult - It's like Led Zepplin really.
Ah yes, 'Don't Fear the Reaper' is the only one I currently have from them, proceeding to look at their other material.

Get some Cold Chisel!

And i'm assuming you're fully stocked on GnR and ACDC.

Bloody hell, I could suggest so much. You're gonna have to be a bit more specific, there's so much good classic rock out there.

I also love "Heavy Metal" and "Godzilla" by them, but I'm not big on some of the others.

Oh, and get Magic Carpet Ride by Steppenwolf.

I think that's all I can recommend that you probably don't already have.

Not really fully stocked. I have 4 from ACDC, Thunderstruck, Highway to Hell, Hells Bells, and TNT, and GnR I have 4 also, Sweet Child of Mine, Paradise City, Welcome to the Jungle, and Knockin' On Heaven's Door. Also saw GnR in concert a few years back.

It's hard to really narrow down what I have. The playlist is constructed on several artists, half of it is comprised of one artist, one song, if you get what I mean.

Listened to a bit of Godzilla, but got Burnin' for You instead. I prefer that one much more.

And Christ, how could I be missing Magic Carpet Ride?! I know a lot of classic rock off the radio that I just miss the name of or forget to add. Thanks for catching that one for me!

god man, led zeppelin, ac/dc, ted nuget, jimi hendrix, the who, black sabbath, pink floyd...just too many good bands to name.

for songs, strangehold by ted nuget should definitly be one of the first. for ac/dc songs like dirty deeds, rock and roll aint noise pollution, back in black, you shook me all night long are some id recommend.

and of course ALL of led zeppelins stuff. dazed and confused, good times bad times, whole lotta love, immigrant song, black dog, rock and roll, stairway to heaven, when the levee breaks, kashmir, and achilles last stand to name a few.

No worries!

Actually I just listened to 'burning for you' for the first time, thanks for making me check it out.

Well good luck.

EDIT: How about Power Ballads? Like Bostons "More than a Feeling" and stuff like that? Power Ballads always rock hard.

The Who.

- The CSI Three, (Who Are You, Baba O'Reilly, Won't Get Fooled Again.)
- I can See for Miles
- Eminence Front, (Live version is best.)
- My Generation
- Pinball Wizard
- The Seeker
- Magic Bus
- See Me/Feel Me

Best thing I did this year was see The Who live - and that includes finally getting my University degree.

Have Baba O'Reilly already, checking the rest.

Added Five To One though. And checking out The Doors more. More into that style.

Well good for both of us then.

And yes, if you know some good Power Ballads I'll check them out. I don't really know what they are, but I do have "More then a Feeling", and if they're like that then by all means, please share.

Go to pandora.com and create a station using the band AC/DC or AeroSmith. It'll automatically play songs from that genre. I found a lot of great songs that way

bad company, free and hendrix all awesome bands/artists from the sixties, for 70s led zeppelin and pink floyd were my favourite. For the 80s I personally wouldn't have that bigger preference of any bands. 90s I would say Nirvana but they're more grunge rather than classic rock. And for now definiently foo fighters, they're my personal favourite atm, if you want a list of bands I would recommened pm me. I could give you 30+ bands easily.
