Cliche's in fiction that annoy you most

it doesnt nessicaryly have to be a cliche, but mabye somthing that comes up alot that you notice[/B] also Id liek to point out that I dont think most cliches are bad unless they are done well or in an interesting way

here are mine

1. the unflinching explosion walk, we all know it its just simply done too many times

2. I dont know if anyone else notices this as much..anyway

this double standard/Idea that women are more mature than men, as the men will always be doing wacky/goofy/fun things while the female will look on disaprovingly, and all she wants to do is make him grow up and have kids with her..I supose an example is "Kocked Up"

3. everything in bad romantic comedies...."oh Im just a quirky yet smoking hot woman/man who just cant find true love!!" ...and everything else

4.this comes up more in TV but the absolute rediculous levels in which they get anything game/computer related wrong

seriously you dont even have to be a geek/nerd to notice, Ive been noticing this crap since I was a kid

like the worst example in I think NCIS, theres this gamer chick, it went somthign like this

*looking at computer monitor*"is that a 12 core?"
"yeah, I have to have faster response time...."
"wait?...you have the high scroe in all the MMORPG's?"
"all of them"

yes thats right the high score in every MMO ever[/B]

Think the OP got all the ones I find most annoying.

To add to 1, I hate how in a lot of films even if someone does get hurt they just say "I'm fine" and act like nothing has happened, being able to take out another 20 "bad guys" after being shot in your left arm is ridiculous.

I agree with 2 and 3, I think it was Yahtzee who said something like Hollywood's idea of ugly is to just give a hot female actor a baggy sweater.

As for 4... ugh, this really annoys me as well as the way people play video games on TV and in films, you know that really over dramatic way of playing where they start treating the controller like a Wii remote when playing Call of Duty on PS3 with Space Invaders sound effects.

Can't add much more right now...

This one gets on my nerves so much. I like nerdy girls, dammit! Why does every romance movie act like they're these boner-killing monstrosities. Then she does the whole glasses/hair/makeup/outfit transformation and now she's suddenly *gasp* the blandest person in the movie. She was cute.

Also, shoehorned romantic subplots in movies, tv shows or novels (but mostly movies) that aren't about love/romance/relationships. I know they do it to appeal to various demographics, but it frequently just comes across as mind-meltingly idiotic.

She's a youtube celebrity who has to be acting dumb for the views. Doesn't make it any less rage-inducing, though. >_>

1. The hero has defeated the villain and he's on his knees. The hero decides to spare him but then the villain tries to get one last shot on the hero and in the panic the hero has to kill him.

2. Which ever character in question is in a tight spot. This looks like the end for him or her when suddenly they are somewhat unrealistically saved at the very last second. I literally roll my eyes every time I see a scene like this .

I thought it was Pac-Man sound effects? God damn the way they portray video game playing always pissed me off. Mashing random buttons and what not, like these morons never saw someone playing a game before. WHO PLAYS LIKE THAT?!
