Co-op ruining games.

Have you ever played co-op with someone and they made it suck so bad. You don't even find the single player fun anymore.

I played Little big planet with someone. Who is a 'that guy' and he had more fun makeing him self look like hot shit and slaping me all the time more then actually playing. And got anyoing after 10-15 minutes and made suck in my mind and I have'nt played it scince that day.

I thought this topic was going to be about how co-op and multiplayer are now being introduced to the detriment of the single player game.

Ok so it wasn't.

OT: Trying to play L4D2 Scavenge mode with randomers makes me realise that there must be less than 30% of people on the game that actually know how to play.

See when I play co-op games with friends, that don't tend to slap me in the face. It makes them more fun for me.

Yes, in any game where you have to work together with somebody to win.
Recently i played Zombie Panic with some ''haaaard cooooore prooooos!'' and i had to keep up to them by watching how they do it. They made me in to 'that guy'. I know every glitch there is to know, i know all the best places to survive, i know how to kill pack of zombie with a melee weapon, i know how to play the zombie perfectly. The maps now look like a big survival plan and the zombies are no threat.
I just have no more fun of that game. I usually just yell at people for not playing good enough, for zombies not being good enough, for not picking up ammo, that i don't have enough space to carry.

co-op can be fun with those people, but you have to stop taking it so seriously and go along with the madness- or try another server if its THAT important to you. But thats how I meet a lot of people on steam and such, dicking around. its funny!

But the times when co-op really works, the way its designed to be... is well worth it- since its more than any anything else on the game and youll only want to play more, and hope you can get an experience like that.

Nah, I play with my brother or friends Halo 3 Co-Op Team Deathmatch and it's better than ever.

Also, Get Force Gemini is still fun, Singleplayer.

Never, ever try an L4D survival match with randoms. 90% of them don't communicate, find a shit camping spot, pile up explosives, shoot them when their teammates are around then actually during the thing they die instantly. This creates an experience not only devoid of skill but also devoid of any semblance of fun.

I found myself playing L4D2 online with some whiny teens, who where also achievement whores. That didn't make for the fun times. I probably would enjoy it more with friends but almost none of my friends have the same co-op games I do

I love games too much for the single player experience to be ruined by a bad co-op round. I CANNOT play Little Big Planet with my husband. We clash like no tomorrow. We play plenty of other titles together though.

But one game that has been ruined for me is Fat Princess. Fat Princess, anyone?
I downloaded it on release day and it was a blast. As time progressed, people must have started getting lazy/overly vicious/or trophy-mad. Rounds started lasting less than five minutes because everyone would just rush the opposing team's castle without upgrading or dividing hats or anything. It has become a chaotic game of who gets lucky first, with no tactic, skill, or FUN.

Now Fat Princess single player is ok I suppose, but the multiplayer made it worth playing to me. So now it's just.. all ruined.. I miss it.

And! While I'm on this rant. Some fella on MY TEAM (let's say the blue team, which is opposed by the red for those not in the know) kept throwing bombs and killing his fellow teammates!! So when the red team came and stole away our princess, he'd just bomb us out of the way!! This continued round after round after round. What kind of fun is that? I don't understand how people can get any amount of joy out of playing so cheaply.

Anyone else seen these antics?

Co-op requires co-operation and the only people that co-operate are friends.

Wow that sucks for you because when i played it with my friend it was FUCKING HILARIOUS, our Sackboys somehow kept molesting each other.

Fuck that, co-op has never been bad for me, always fun, so yeah I guess you do need a good friend in order to make it fun.

I only play Co-op with either my wife, or people I know.
I did meet some great randoms in L4D online, but they were very rare.
Mostly, I just stick with my pals.
