Well it's all a money-making scheme. I got to respect how much money this is going to rake in for them, all over just a little bit of hemp swag. They know their audience.

First Snoop, now this?

Do the devs know their market that well or are they trying to expand?

That's kind of awesome and also highly irresponsible considering that a lot of kids play CoD.
Seriously? Why?

I mean, I hardly think the kiddies will be made into junkies because they saw a picture of some leaf in a video game.
Because while its responsible use is never mentioned, its use and coolness are pushed hardcore. Do I personally feel responsible adults should use what pleases them responsibly? Yes. Do I think showing kids that getting high off your ass and being a dick is cool and he's totally a fag if he doesn't get with the picture is irresponsible and should be discouraged? Definitely.

Also, now that we're on the subject, where are the Doritos and Mountain Dew skins? And for shits and giggles, I want a trollface reticle. If we are gonna go full douche mode, let's turn it up to eleven unironically.

Didn't this come out in May? Kind of late to the party but whatev.

Frankly I'm just disappointed it didn't come out on 4/20.

Heh.

Weed has been just as integral to the online experience as using enough colourful language to paint the world's most offensive mural. In MW2, there were at least three weed-related tags if I recall correctly, and everyone had something of similar nature in their names. This just seems to acknowledge it.

Though I agree with Nieroshai; they need to really ramp it up now. I expect a gun that fires only in swears. A rocket launcher that looks like Arnold Schwarzenegger. Troll faces everywhere.

This seems to give me an idea for a comedy FPS game.

The funny thing is...these skins are likely to get you killed in the game. It is much easier to spot someone with a custom paint job on their gun. Any vivid colors in environments of mostly grey, white, black, and brown stick out like a sore thumb.

The only thing wrong with all of this is that they're selling it. They could put some time together and, I don't know, make a valued expansion pack or something, but instead opt to put some half-assed reskins for sale. Pretty shitty practice, but hey.

The idea of weed-themed guns is actually pretty damn cool. I can dig it. But that texture job is fucking terrible. Looks like someone's 5-minute job modding Skyrim.

All the weed haters in this thread whoa so unexpected.

Well I'm pretty sure I said like 2 years ago I would never play another remake COD again. Who would pay for skins anyways I'd rather just have a normal black weapon.

Hell, didn't they recently legalize it in parts of the US?
As a Colorodian I can field this question.

Weed is technically legal in Colorodo according to state law, but there's a fuckload of federal red tape in regards to where, when, and how much can be smoked without a prescription, and it varies on a city to city basis.
In my city for instance you can possess weed without getting busted, provided you're over 21, but you can't smoke it on public property, and you can't sell or buy it within the city limits.
Of course that's just what I've heard from friends and people I've asked at record stores who've put WAY more research into this then I care to, I've never touched that crap and have no plans to.

OT: Well that's... dumb. I guess they have no illusions as to whom their audience is though, I'll give them that.

Oh Activision, Ghosts still sold millions of copies, stop being so desperate with these DLCs every week for Ghosts.

They're appealing the dudebros of the Call of Duty playerbase, clearly, who'll think it's so awesome that they get weed on their guns. You make the playerbase look so good, Activision, really.

You know, people ***** but, one drunken night I woke up with Ghosts in my games section. I've been playing it ever since, and I have to say it's multiplayer is fun so long as you aren't playing with Toxic players, which I've only encountered one so far.

Eh, I just couldn't get into it, singleplayer, co-op or multiplayer. If you don't encounter toxic players that's awesome. I can't say I found many when I tried playing Ghosts, I just don't like the game enough to continue playing it.

Yes, this is real[footnote]http://www.polygon.com/2014/4/26/5656452/call-of-duty-marijuana-theme-pot-camo-skin-dlc[/footnote][footnote]http://www.kitguru.net/gaming/jon-martindale/call-of-duty-gets-pun-heavy-with-weed-themed-camo/[/footnote]

"Guns blazing" takes on new meaning with the marijuana-themed camouflage pattern that Call of Duty: Ghosts is now selling over Xbox Live.
I guess you gotta pander to your demographic, right?
It's actually self referential to call the pack that, in mw2 you could unlock a title by hitting 3 or 5 people with the riot shield, it was called blunt truma, which of course was weed leaves. (was also high command and joint ops).

On topic. Yeah, it is pandering to the people who play your games 'cos lets be honest, if a person smokes weed they REALLY want you to know about it! It's like that vegan/religious joke "how do you know if a person smokes weed? Don't worry they will tell you".

... What is wrong with this? Aren't you all judging weed smokers a bit with the comments being made?
No harm in it all.

You're allowed to make comments of wide sweeping generalizations if you're targeting anything CoD. It's how the Escapist works. Move along now, try not to break up the circlejerk.

OT: Tacky DLC no doubt. But if it sells then all the power to them to be honest.
