Is it just me... How far do you agree that the only good game in the Call of Duty franchise (gameplay wise) was the first. I mean during firefights you actually had to keep your head down, and the enemies targeted your AI team-mates rather than focusing their entire attention on you as if you had a bullseye painted on your helmet. Also the quake engine with WWII weapons paired with excellent map design made the multiplayer experience a thing of beauty, proper team advances, camping because you had too etc.
To me CoD4, although well executed and good in its own right opened a whole world of alienated solo singleplayer in which your team-mates seemed to just be wet characters in no real danger, and don't get me started on the multiplayer =P I'm not saying that the CoD pre modern warfare is Bad, I'm just saying that imho they threw the best parts out of the window.
Those are just my thoughts, how far do you agree/disagree?
