The game has become simply monotonous, with every release nothing really changes they just add you it and don?t think of changing the base game play to accommodate the additions. Best example for of this is when MW2 came out, the maps were larger but the team sizes remained the same which turned the game into hid and seek on death match modes. In addition the amount of air support added with the lack of cover from it made it mandatory for the cold-blooded perk, even then chopper gunner could still see you since its controlled by a human.
The amount of hand holding has gotten ridiculous, back in COD4 and WAW it wasn?t so easy to pick up and play and with the lack of kill streaks they had to actually rely on their weapons (or grenade launchers). Now in black ops you get a remote controlled car strapped with C4 for only three kills, not to mention you can save these up and then unleash a swarm of them into the enemy lines. Hand holding may be good from a business point of view (easier to get into the more purchases it will get) but defiantly not from a gamer point of view.
Because of hand holding most games consist of people that barely know what they are doing with all the ?hardcore fpsers? usually in a single party, meaning its usually pretty one sided fights occur without any chance of retaliation (lets face it no game chat is ever about tactics, unless it is with friends or a miracle has occurred).
I stopped playing COD a week after getting black ops; it felt so similar to MW2 that I got no fun out of it. The only difference to game play I felt was the kill streaks got more ridiculous (though I was thankful the nuke didn?t return).
tl;dr?
You know the abbreviation SSDD (Same Shit Different Day) well COD is SSDR (Same Shit Different Release).
