it was good when it first came out with world at war. but now i prefer survival vs hordes or whatver you want to call it shooters with more variation. Like killing floor!
edit: Its really fun when the frantic shit happens and you and your team just barely manage to fight them off with nothing more than a handful of hp left between you. And when you and your mates are screaming at each other and laughing at the same time. Friends make it so much better.
double edit: oh and 'how is it fun' is a dumb question. its fun because i find it fun.

Because it's simple shoot at everything fun, alot of people prefer that to all else.
I found the CoD zombie mode painfully bad compared to the real game, but hey I'm not the demographic for this.

Because it was the only thing that justified my purchase of WaW 
It's fun & get's challenging very quickly you have to play smart work as a team make crawlers & so on, it's a fun mode just like spec op's it brings some fun to CoD after mp get's boring.
Also i personally love zombie games so much better now then the 90's

Its easy to play, simple mechanics make it enjoyable for more casual gamers. I mostly play it with my brother and his friends, its something nice and quick to play after a 6 hour round of New Vegas. Also, Left 4 Dead isn't on the PS3 and I'm between Gaming Rigs at the moment.BenYahtzeeIsGod said:
I had the same attitude as the OP until I played with 3 of my friends. I thought it was a boring game-type where you pray for the best gun from the box, and run in a circle for 20 hours on end so you can place high on the ranking boards.
However, I found it can be with friends, seeing how far you can get with whatever weapon the box throws at you, using different perk combos and the like.
It's a welcome break from the frustration of multiplayer, where connection issues and unbalanced guns are rife.

Personally, I think that the Battlefield games would be absolutely incredible if they threw in a cheap zombie mode too. Zombies, blood, explosions, destruction, it would be awesome.
The game is repetative, There is no customization so you can't make the zombies more fragile but in larger numbers, the maps include stupid enemies (the scientist, george romero and dogs)and the new map pack will include one new map and the others are just the maps from the previous treyarch game I think.
