I dunno. The Audit level was pretty fun.

<spoiler=Fallout 3 Spoiler kinda sorta>The Vault Dweller with the help of the Lyons Pride fought his way through the Memorial. When he got to the purifier he found it to be highly irradiated. "It's either your or me who's going to have to go in there," said Sarah Lyons, with a feeling of hopelessness in her voice. "I've got a better idea!" piped up The Vault Dweller, who then programmed a Protectron to interface with the controls using is immense scientific ability, and then everyone broke for lunch.

"That was a much more satisfying ending!" said Sarah, taking another sip of her Nuka Cola.
"I'm just glad I can keep playing!" said the Vault dweller with a sigh of relief.

I'll stop now.

I pegged him square in the head and yet, his arm came flying off. Would have ruined the game if you blew his dome off.

Uh... what? Hold on, give me a minute to process that information.

Yeah, as has been said, the game will always blow his arm off. I've shot him dead center in the chest, only to have the bullet jump to right and take his arm off. Whatever, I more than destroyed his guard dudes. I've taken out like six of them with him, but without killing him I've gotten around a dozen.

Look me and my friend were talking about COD4 recently, we ended up talking about part 2, the all ghillied up missions, and he says u cant shoot kamarov in the head with the .50 cal, and that he comes back in the end of the game, where u r on the bridge. For some reason i can distinctly remember getting a headshot, i may be wrong, but i was jw. Anyone know the answer to my predicament?
Alright, I've been up all night, and feel like being a completely obscure corrector...

@ Everyone: You can't shoot Kamarov because he's your ALLY! 8D
Kamarov is the name of the Russian who happens to lead the "good" Russians in the present day!

The man that leads the Ultranationalist Party and is the man you shoot the arm off of 15 years earlier as (then) Lieutenant Price is NOT Kamarov... His name is Imran Zakhaev!
X3

Just felt like enlightening you on it. I know, I'm a nerd! 83

Best shot ever on that mission was killing both the pilot and gunner in that Hokum in one shot. When the helicopter confronted me, I put a .50 through the face of the gunner in front, and ended up killing the pilot behind him, as well. I knew because I could see the blood spatter on both sections of the cockpit, instead of just the one for the gunner. I felt like a fucking tank after that; I would have just sat there dropping helicopters if I could have.

Anyways, even if you had just barely nicked his toe, his arm would still fly off. The question is, then, how many other people did you kill with the .50 before they were all able to pack up and leave?
I actually killed him on the second shot because I go trigger happy with that gun and fire rapid as possible. I've only killed 2 ppl total though.

It was dull? How could a story about a security guard and a physicist owning a bear for a pet be dull.
Good man for realising that wasn't a typo. They did actually go out and capture a bear.

True, your involvement in the shot is more or less token, but at least the rest of the mission is mint as. :)

I realized the typo. I just thought the story is better with a bear than a beer.

It's actually more involved than you'd think, given how you have to wait or compensate for the wind (the latter of which I never do well).

No matter what you do, the bullet curves (just like MacMillain warns) and hits him in the arm.

No, you didn't. The game doesn't let you, it automatically curves the bullet into his arm. No exceptions, it's scripted.
Nope, I got a headshot on my first attempt (And never again, no matter how hard I try), and his arm flew off. I was bedazzled for about 3 seconds before my sights filled with helicopter.

I remember compensating for the wind. I got a head-shot, and it turned into an arm-shot, which rendered my effort pointless. It's a fine game, and that's my favourite mission. Just seems like a shoehorned design choice to force that shot for a plot device.

it doesn't matter where you THINK you hit him...the game automatically says "you hit him in the arm" end of story I dont care what friend you were watching

It is possible to headshot him, i spent quite some time trying to do this myself, however it appears he has a guardian angel around him.. who doesnt like his arms, because no matter where you hit the bastard that arm is the only thing that goes.

Yes the guardian angel is called the game script. So if you didn't see his head explode from at .50 cal round you didn't infact "get a headshot"

It doesn't automatically curve into his arm. You need to play the game again.

The bullet can and DOES hit elsewhere. His arm just always blows off. There is no mystic curving of the bullet into his shoulder blade. You can hit him in the foot and his arm blows off.

First time I shot him I got him in the right arm. I've also shot him in the head, the throat, the heart, the stomache, I think one time I even got him in the crotch.
