Fucking up Matt's hand in Saints Row 2.

Burying Shogo alive? yeah, that's harsh, but he was another gangster, he chose to escalate the conflict, and he was a prize dick.
Executing Julius? Dude blew you up. He needed a bullet between the eyes.

Matt was just someone who knew Maero, he wasn't in on anything, he was the closest thing to an innocent bystander the storylines had.

(Never mind all those randoms you run over because it's too much effort to turn an they don't get out of the way fast enough, they don't have names so they're not important)
The thing that really hit me was what happened to Carlo. Poor bloke, being Fag Dragged would suck major ass.

Fallout 3 Broken Steel
You can bomb the Citadel
I did and it haunted me so much that I don't play that save file anymore.

Now, let's boot up this terminal and nuke the Enclave mobile base...

Hang on...

What's this? There's another option here...

Well, Cryostasis was pretty cold all the time!

But as for the actual question, I respond with Defcon.

Everything about Defcon is about the contrast between the cold precision of the screen you watch and the untold misery that you cause.

Every time you hit a city a little bar will flash up saying for example 'St.Petersburg, 2.8 million dead'

And the background soundtrack is wails and cries.

Cold.

What exactly happens other than the screen? Or is it a mini game?

After you take the vertibird back, there's no Citadel and a few BOS members attack.
It was mosly just the idea that disturbed me, that I just killed the one organization that wanted to help humanity get back on their feet.

Letting me play a game in which you kill people..... especially dynasty warriors... it was like a ending a population.

No but seriously the coldest moment ever would have to be....

oh and the dragon age and lost odyssesy and darkness and yadayada are not cold to say, but just sad... also those cold decisions you make for a good reason are not that cold.

COLD IS F^.^ING saints row 2 where you... what? someone got that?... or fallout 3 where you... someone got that too? COLD IS A F^.^ing GAME WERE YOU GO TO HELL AND Ro.0 and KILL BABIES WHO HAVE BLADES FOR LIMBS FOR NO REASON!(which is ironic because its actually not that COLD).... first time that jokes been made

(no russian was not cold... I was just venting my rage for not being able to run, I skipped the level because it was boring not because it was horrible)

Actually that isn't the best example because the guy never zooms in.

It's at its heart a very basic RTS game, but it's very tense and great on Multiplayer.

Check it out if you have a PC. I think it's quite cheap on steam.
I will do. Like my new temporary avatar?

I'll keep it for a couple of days while I still find it funny.

Geez Louise!, it's Stalin!

I'd have to say the end of 'Loose ends' from Modern Warfare 2 is pretty damn cold. Also the scene in Prototype when Alex finds his (ex)girlfriend
I was thinking the same thing. Loose Ends made me very, very angry. I didn't see it coming at all, and that was so damn cold...

I think it's the ending of Republic Commandos when you have to leave Sev behind. That game did such a great job of making likeable characters that when you had to abandon one of them to torture it sucked balls.

Adding to Saint's Row 2, the part where you trap Maero's girlfriend in the trunk is horrifying. They show it from her perspective and it was the first time in that game that I really felt terrible about what I'd done.

Choosing who to save in Mass Effect was horrible. I would go into more detail, but I won't for the sake of spoilers. But it sucked. :(

Oh yeah, I forgot about that! It was so cruel to do that to Sev, darn it. I would have gone in to save him, screw Yoda. I would have rather had my entire squad and myself die at the end of the game by going back to save him...

Was one of my favourite games, too. It was the one that got me into shooters, used to hate them before.

Slicing Timebomb's artery in Fallout 3. The game actually pops up with a message commenting on what a bastard you are. Or anytime you use the Sandman perk to slit people's throats while they're sleeping. Killing some of the friendly stalkers in Stalker was pretty cold. Or pretty much the entire run of the Hitman games.
