The noise was raucous, and the loss regrettable, but The Endless yet had more important matters. We will meet soon enough, interloper, The Endless smiled, his regal, chiseled face split as his stony mouth appeared from beneath his flowing beard.
Concentrating on the mass of dead and defunct creatures laid out before him, The Endless raised a single, stony hand, fingers extended. A large pile of corpses began to shake slightly, then more violently. Suddenly, the entire pile burst into a fine mist of particles. The Endless closed his outstretched hand into a tight, white fist. The mist spontaneously collapsed on itself and produced a loud, piercing sound, a bright light and a large amount of heat, pouring off in waves and bombarding The Endless' unfazed body. With a final burst of smoke, a new formed Aberration stood before him.
It was a tall, lanky creature covered in black scales sporting nasty spikes. It's main head rested upon thin, nearly nonexistant shoulders, it's green, beady and unblinking eyes unrelentingly observant. More heads appeared at the end of long limbs that could have been hands, except there were dozens of them spread over it's thin body. It stood on dozens more spindly, kneeless legs. It hissed quietly as The Endless inspected it. "Good," he muttered, stroking his stony, white beard and nodding. "Take two others and find the intruder. Stop him." A hundred pairs of dark eyes nodded acquiescence in unison. The Aberration slithered off into the wall and disappeared.
That should slow him, The Endless thought, watching the beast crawl away. Turning his attention back toward the corpses, The Endless couldn't help but chuckle -inadvertently shaking his Empire- and think, But for how long?
