When I was a kid I was obsessed with collecting things. I must've tried to collect everything at one point. Now, the only one that remains is my huge collection of bottlecaps. It is huge. I must have hundreds, and I still add to it occasionally when I come across a cap. In the post-apocolypse, I will be rich.

Besides that, I suppose I collect my videogames since I never trade them in. You could also say I collect books, and my Game Informer and National Geographic magazines. But those are as much being too lazy to get rid of them as collecting them.

I also collect the tears of orphans.
Sweet!

How do you store them? One big jar all together, or do you keep each one separate with a detailed label of who/why/when, or do you go halfway between where you keep lump jars of specific reasons for the tears?
I keep them in rainbow colored glass jars made from the melted bones and horns of unicorns.

I collect cats (uh... not live ones, tho, I'm not allowed to have more than one, unfortunately), anything with cats. In fact, I can't call my book case a book case with a straight face anymore, because it's filled with cats. I guess I'm a crazy cat lady in the making...

I've also found myself, as much as I am ashamed of it, with a growing collection of plushies.

And, naturally, I'm a dedicated collector of dust.

That the ones Ikea sells, or the cheap Zellers knockoffs that use 50% Moose bones?
Not quite you see I breed my own special rainbow tailed unicorns in my wood shed and the glass in made by an imp.

Why are so many people, either gender, ashamed of this? Plushies rock! There are so many cool ones out there, I have a plush Hulk Hogan, Optimus Prime, eight different colored Yoshi's, Richard from LFG, Leo from VG Cats, a Folkmanis three-headed Dragon handpuppet, griffins, drakes, sharks of many varieties including scalloped hammerhead and whale shark, more dinosaurs than most people could identify, neopets, pokemon, digimon, an infantry battalion of A&W Chubby Chickens, two different A&W Rootbears, a half-dozen different Cthulhu, a plush slipper pair of the killer rabbit from Monty Python and the Holy Grail, two Totoro, and I even have a beanie-baby of Po from Kung Fu Panda... SKADOOSH!

(I have over 1000 plushies, and no room in my room)
A plush Hulk Hogan?

That's possibly the most awesome thing I've ever heard of.

I'm a packrat so I can't seem to throw away anything at all, but my biggest collections seem to be DVDs, plush toys (including the huge box of ty beanie babies I still have from the 90s), and video games. I got rid of a lot of books recently (not my idea).

On my laptop, I USED to have a ton of anime & manga, a lot of it I hadn't even watched/read yet because I only did it in my spare time. Then, probably related to this collection, I had to restore to factory settings (Disc Read Error, Pres Ctrl+Alt+Del to Restart kept coming up and I couldn't even boot the damn thing) and now it's all gone. :(

Bottlecaps.
Lots and lots of bottlecaps.
Fallout 3 kinda got to me and I've been collecting them since, in the hopes that if the apocalypse happens in my lifetime, I'll be the richest man still alive.
...Unless post-apocalypse moves to a seashell based economy...
Better get started on a seashell collection.

I also have a pretty good collection of bottlecaps of a brand of beer called Magic Hat - they all have little messages on the underside. I'm trying to fill a glass jug I got at the brewery.

And like someone said before me, I'll be all set up for any sort of Fallout scenario >_>
The three of us should pool our collections together and open the First Bank of the Wasteland.

That's pretty funny, that all 3 of our posts were mostly the same. We definetly should start a bank. We'll base it in the Wastelands of New York City, since I'll definetly control it thanks to my massive wealth and post-apocolyptic survival skills.
