Ones that I am glad I bought:

I bought the Limited Edition for Gears of War 2. It was only £4 ($6ish) more than the normal version so although the extras weren't amazing it was easily worth the price increase.

The Dragon Age 2 Signature Edition was nice. Basically if you pre-ordered it before a certain date you got some in-game codes and it didn't cost any extra, it was a nice addition.

One that I wish I hadn't:

The Limited Edition for Gears of War 3 on the other hand wasn't really that great, and I am glad I changed my mind about getting the more expensive one with the statue. The codes I never really used once I unlocked better things and the extras (art book etc.) get looked at once and then forgotten about.

Mass Effect 3 Limited Edition, for the same reason as Gears of War 3 I felt it was a bit of a waste as the extra codes were replaced by better in-game stuff fairly quickly and the artbook and stuff are not really interesting enough to look at again.

Bulletstorm epic edition, Got some extra things and a beta access for gears of war 3.

The Witcher 2:EE, Great game.

I regret buying:

Crysis 2 limited edition, worthless. Wasn't even worth for the actual game.

I've never got any, Gamestation cancelled my ME3 collectors edition preorder when they went bust, and I was grateful afterwards.

I'm glad I bought the Special Edition of Catherine, I use the shirt as a pj top and it is so comfy and warm since it's so big on me.

I'm also glad I got the Director's Cut edition of Silent Hill 2, it was worth the epic hunt I went on for it! I hope that one counts!

I got the special edition of Hakuoki on the PSP, the artbook is gorgeous.

I don't regret:

Dead Rising 2: Zombrex Edition. Cost me the exact same amount as the normal edition would normally, but had extras like the pen that was made to look like a syringe filled with Zombrex. And that pen lasted for ages!

The Witcher 2: Enhanced Edition. Obviously this is just the version that came out for Xbox 360, and had the soundtrack and other stuff as well which was good of CDProjekt

I regret buying: Mass Effect 3 Limited Edition. Yeah, the stuff was nice, but after looking over it once I got it, I didn't think it was £30 extra worth of nice

I think the Pandora's Box from GoW 3 is pretty darn cool. The Helghast helmet seems sort of silly in retrospect, especially since the darn cat won't wear the thing : (.

I've got a soft spot in my heart for artbooks and soundtracks - physical for the former and digital for the latter. The Killzone art books have always been a treat, and the soundtrack for Darksiders 2 was awesome.

And, though I hesitate to admit it, I do think the RC car from Black Ops is one of my favorites. Don't judge, it speaks to my inner child.

I got the Mass Effect 3 Limited edition. It's alright to look at the art book and stuff, the comic is pretty shit though. I imagine it could go for a pretty penny sometime in the future if I keep it in good condition!

- SFIV, the european version was so cheap, just not in price.
And how could i know the game would suck and destroy my love for SF?
- ME3: that's a postcard, NOT a litho.......artbook...already have Universe...

Regretted NOT buying:

- Fallout: New Vegas LE

Glad i bought:

- Killzone 3, for the awesome artbook.
- Fallout 3, for the lunchbox and Bobble-Head.
- Halo Reach: Halsey's diary is just wonderfully executed.
- Infamous, not that great, but i like the comic styled packaging.

Enhanced Edition for The Witcher 2 was great, the quest guide booklet thing helped me out a lot, I was holding it for the majority of playing the game.

Limited Edition for Halo: Reach came with extra codes for in-game things because the guys at the store told me they'd give me it if I bought it, which was okay I guess. All the physical, tangible things like the UNSC badge and 'classified' information booklet? I looked at it once, put it back in the box and never opened it again.

Limited Edition for Halo 4 is mostly digital stuff, the things I mostly appreciate.

The Fallout 3 and Bioshock 2 CEs definitely qualify as the ones I'm the most glad I got. The Bioshock 2 CE in particular was only about 15 euro more expensive and came with some of the coolest stuff I've seen in a CE to date (LP and Posters, the latter which have been framed and adorn my walls even today) and an artbook that oozed of quality. The F3 lunchbox and bobblehead are also great conversation pieces.

I'm most disappointed with the ME3 CE. The only thing I found worthwhile in there was the "From Ashes" DLC, the physical extras just felt cheap (The "litho") or like attempts at making me buy other stuff (the "comic book").

Regret buying:

Two Worlds. Why, oh why did I buy that piece of crap? I was unsure on the game itself and no-one I knew was planning to get it so I thought I would be the one to take the plunge. That seems reasonable, right? I didn't know it was going to be utter crap at the time. But why the fuck did I buy the LCE on something that was such a gamble? That was fucking stupid. Luckily I got a lot of the price back when I sold it like four days after.

Assassin's Creed 2. I got the version with an Ezio statue... and not much else. I think there was only like one in-game extra and it was a complete waste. Now I have a statue sitting on my shelf as a reminder of how much money I wasted. That one really sullied me to the idea of LCEs. Before that I got them with almost every game that had them. Not any more. And I'll never buy an LCE with one of those overpriced statues ever again.

Regret not buying:

To be honest, I can't really think of anything that fits that explanation exactly, so I'll say what I can that's closest.

Darksiders. A very long time after getting it I found an awesome LCE of the game sitting on a shelf in a second-hand shop. I had absolutely no idea that it existed before then (not for lack of trying) and I really wish I did. I didn't buy it at the shop because who wants a second-hand LCE? It's probably in bad condition or has bits missing. Screw that. I also think that it was a PC exclusive for some completely unfathomable reason, so it would have been useless to me anyway.

Oblivion. Similar story to Darksiders. I have a feeling I may have had at least some level of awareness about it when it first came out, but I can't really recall. If I knew for sure then I would have bought it at the time. But by the time I was sure it was real it was too late. Found second-hand as well. I looked up what it had in it and it sounded awesome. I really wish I had gotten it when I could.

Glad that I bought:

The Forza games. I've got the LCE for every Forza that's ever had one, and I've got the Horizon LCE on pre-order too. The LCEs for that series aren't much more expensive than the normal editions, so you're not really throwing money away. The extra cars you get in them are usually pretty cool too. Even though they were all released later down the line as DLC for everybody, I very much enjoyed being able to get them earlier. I also love the shiny cases and extra physical goodies that you get. But I think it's mostly that I love the series, so I have to have the LCE versions. I won't get the standard editions of those games, like any normal pleb can!

Jade Empire. Cool shiny metallic box and an entire extra character with unique fighting styles to use. What's not to like about that? It also had a bonus disc with trailers and demos on which were awesome. Had demos for the first Forza and Conker Live and Reloaded.

Shadow of the Colossus. It's not technically an LCE, since it's not officially called that, but in a way it is. It was in the first production run with the card sleeve case and the art cards. I think that qualifies as a "limited" version of the game. Plus, so many games now just add in pre-order DLC to all their first production runs and slap an "LCE" logo on the front (Darksiders 2, The Darkness 2, Sleeping Dogs etc.). But anyway, what I like about it is simply the card case. It feels really rustic and natural. Kind of "Earthy". It fits the tone of the game really well. It just feels special compared to all the plastic cases games usually come in too.

Starcraft II CE
An artbook, SC1 (as if I didn't have that already) SC2, a comic book, a very awesome looking case and some other stuff. Worth the 100 euro to me.

STALKER: SoC
Didn't think they still had this game when I went for it in the store. It's in a very nice tin/metal case, with multiple booklets (that are all incorrect thanks to the eternal development time) and a map. Didn't cost anything extra at all and I loved the game.

Just bought the .. whatever it's called edition of New Vegas with all the expansions and such, so I'm happy with that.

Don't know why I was stupid twice and bought both Fable 2 and 3's limited editions. I had hopes once, Peter. Not anymore.

The Shadow of the Colossus paperback style box things, had cool cardboard paimting things of a few of the colossi in it. Very cool indeed!

I pretty much regret all of my collection edition purchase (don't asked me why I bought them in the first place)-

Alone in the Dark Wii version- nuff said. Ok the figure is decent that is if he himself was a better character and the soundtrack is meh. I don't give a danm who those whailing group are but the soundtrack wan't for me.

Monster Hunter Wii- The game is still good but the only item from that edition that was worth while is the controller therefore I sould of bought the controller edition which you get the game and controller only. (I never used the Wii speak and while the Lagiacrus head statue is cool and all but I can easily lived without it.

The Last Story- The tin case and the artbook is cool and all but I didn't like the game itself. Also the soundtrack was also meh due to how bland the soundtrack is altogether.

Unsure-
Dark Souls: Prepared to Die Edition. The card, artbook is cool but I haven't played the game itself yet (too much time invested in GW2) now have I listen to the soundtrack yet (including the making of dvd aswell).

Legend of Zelda: Spirit Track. While I didn't finish and traded in the game, the figures were awesome and the big tin case can have alternative used (extra storage) despite that would devalve it in future time.

Glad-
Spore- Sure the game was medicore but I liked the making of dvd and the artbook is fantastic. The poster was meh (I no longer hand up my poster).

The only collector's edition I've purchased is the inFamous 2 Hero Edition. I don't regret buying it so much as I resent the fact that it went on sale a few weeks after for the same price as the new game itself ($60). Nevertheless it was a pretty good deal. I saw the same Cole replica that came with the Hero Edition going for $40 today, which alone was the price difference between the Hero Edition and just a copy of inFamous 2 brand new. The Hero Edition also got me my awesome sling bag that I use all the time.

I thought about getting Skyrim's collector's edition, but decided it was just too much money for stuff I wasn't all that interested in obtaining. I don't regret it at all considering Skyrim is inferior in all ways except combat to Oblivion and I got the cool map that comes with every copy of the game anyway. For awhile I was also seriously wanting the 25th anniversary Final Fantasy thing, but again, too far out of my price range. The only FF game that I want on hard copy that I don't already have or am going to buy soon is VII anyhow and it'll be better to wait for the remake to invest in instead.

I've only bought 2 Collector's Editions. Mass Effect 3 (like everyone else) and Record of Agarest War Zero.

Mass Effect 3 was nice. Nothing great and amazing (and the art book spoiled some of the surprise characters I was going to meet), but since I only paid $10 for it on release day, I can't complain--I had a gift card.

Record of Agarest War Zero was a freaking steal! Best Buy only had the Limited Collector's Edition, but they were selling it for even cheaper than a regular PS3 game. Instead of 69.99 or up like most CLs, or even 59.99 like a normal game, they had it for 49.99. Came with a deck of cards with highly detailed characters on each card, character guide and art book, soundtrack, what I'm assuming are Tarrot cards, and a neat little box to store both decks of cards in. I like this.

Regret not buying...I can't think of any. I know there have been some that, after they immediately come out, I go, "Oh, I wish I had bought that," but that fades after a few days. Now, this Dead or Alive 5 GameStop edition I want, but I'm getting a head ache trying to preorder it, so I don't know. It's turning into a bit of a chore.
