colonial marines playable yet?

i liked some of the older AVP games and i hear this one is garbage but just wondering if a couple months of updates and DLC have made the game worth my time or not.

i also now only play shooters with a controller so if it requires a mouse and keyboard i'm out.

Well it was always playable just horribly made every step of the way, maybe they fixed some of the technical parts but the design / content really can't be un-fucked at this stage.

If you really need to play it then sure things will work but I would never recommend it, play the old games once over again and have a better time.

A few months after release the PC version got a massive patch that address most of the problems. Most but not all. I played it after the patch and still ran into issues of aliens standing still for no apparent reason and various other bugs. With it pretty much fixed, it's still not a great game. It has glimpses of greatness but those are quickly overshadowed by bleh. I only paid $5 and felt I got my money's worth. Had I paid more, I might have been annoyed. As far as controller support, I have no idea. I can't stand playing a FPS without KB/M.

It's playable, but I don't know why you'd want to. Even post-patch its still a mess. It's still far uglier than the trailers, the AI is still incredibly dumb, and the only real bug hunt you'll be going on will probably involve support forums.

You don't even fight Xenomorphs for most of the game. The vast majority of the enemies are generic Weyland/Yutani mooks.

Oh, and O'Neil. Seriously, fuck that guy. He's got a goddamn Smartgun and can't even hit the broad side of a barn with it. IT AIMS FOR YOU! ...Oh God, no... he heard me! I'm sorry I offended you, O'Neil.... please, please don't stand in that doorframe and refuse to move! Will you move if I tell you that I really like your voice actor? I mean... I liked you better when you were Colonel Roy Mustang, but... OH GOD DAMNIT, O'NEIL! WHY ARE YOU SHOOTING AT THE FLOOR?!

I picked it up when it hit a low sale and played SP. It wasn't that bad, and is really just your typical shooter experience.

Yes, Aliens: Colonial Marines is Gamepad friendly.

I played just recently actually.
Just... Nobody on that dev team gave the slightest damn about that game. That's what it felt like.
