-shrugs- my Pub Club membership pays off again. Although, I hope that they don't do that. Even if I don't have to experience it myself, that's really annoying. I think that if they start doing that then they're going to lose viewers. People may put up with an ad at the start of a video, but an ad part way through a video is beyond annoying.

Advertisement in the middle of videos is only acceptable if the video in question is at least 20 minutes long, whilst still annoying it is bearable. But halfway through a 5 minute video? That's just taking the piss.

Although in this case I do believe it's an error, has happened to me before but only once.

I was just watching the Kane and Lynch Zero Punctuation, with an advert video at the beginning. Not a problem, I can wait 20 seconds for the video.

Only problem was, half way through the video, ANOTHER 20 second advert appears over my video!

Err, Escapist? You're interrupting viewing now? What the...?

Has anyone else experienced this? Perhaps some ploy to get PC members?

Seriously. Don't be ridiculous, man. Be grateful it isn't a full pay site! Much like hulu and their adds I'll take a 20 sec delay (or even a minute delay, hell a two minute delay) to enjoy the stuff I want to see. If you have ADD that bad, whip out the solitaire and deal with it.

It's happened to me, and a couple of times, too.

You seem to be the only other one so must be a glitch. One or two mentioned to me 'it's just an advert'. I don't MIND adverts, as I said in the OP - I just don't expect a 4 minute video to be interrupted, I mean... it's 4 minutes.

I've never had that happen. Although, my method for watching videos is to start them in a tab, mute them, then dawdle somewhere else on the site until 30+ seconds go by, so one might have slipped me by.

Escapist hasn't yet reached the point of saturation for me regarding ads, but they're close. This awful crap on the sides of my screen are annoying, but they're at least related to Escapist itself.

If they started putting ads in the middle of videos, then yeah, I'd probably have to stop watching them.

Never seen that, and I'm fine with 20 sec Ads beforehand, at least now, that they stopped the god-awful Sir Walken adverts.
