Come up with a concept for a game that sounds as boring as possible, most likely this game will be using the crysis or unreal engine to pump out superb graphics, but because the game is boring, the graphics capabilities will be made redundant.

Here's mine: A game about being a milk man, basically its a bit like Crazy Taxi meets GTA4....except without the violence, police, stealing, racing, or any other form of fun whatsoever. Objective of the game, drive to the next person on your satnav's house and deliver their milk before the time runs out, deliver all the milk you can within a certain time to beat a high score. Has superb (almost realistic) graphics and 100% accurate gameplay....all for no particular reason whatsoever :)

Oh, and you can't run people over, otherwise you lose points, game over, you're fired and jailed.

An open world game set in massive city with no combat, no platforming, no driving, and no NPCs.

You just walk around...and find collectibles in alleyways.

And the collectibles? They're just pennies.

You can't even spend them on in-game stuff.

Reminds me of the Ambulance missions of the GTA series (I've only played GTA3 and Vice City); if you don't drive fast and super-carefully, you won't make it past the first couple levels.

How about a game where you basically totter about all day, but at night monsters come out and wander aimlessly around.

It's not really the concept that makes a game boring, so much as the execution.

Couldn't be any more boring than Prototype.

Oh snap!

Boring, hm? Well. Mine would be an off-shoot of The Sims. Expect as you play further and further that you slowly begin to realize how the game is really a satire of how monotonous your life is, and you begin to feel that the game is mocking you and mirroring your own life. And then it slowly descends into survival-horror, because when you finally look at the clock you'll find that you've spent the last 48 hours playing a simulation of your life, and the elements of the game start breaking down into some twisted dimension of black&white and illogical transcendence of natural physics, all finally culminating in your avatar watching a copy of itself plunging to its death from the top of a fifty-story building.
...wait. We were supposed to think of games that don't exist, weren't we?

How about a game set in the modern world. It's a war game, but you don't actually do anything people do in warfare. Enemies just pop up and down like a shooting gallery. In order to lower the stakes as much as possible, you can take multiple hits before you die. In order to break flow as much as possible, you heal by hiding. There's a plot, but it's half-baked. There are characters, but none of them are relatable. Good thing nothing like that exists.

Isn't that like impossible in GTA since the cars appear to be balanced with exercise balls in mind :/

Count to 1,000,000,000 - THE GAME!

Press a button untill you reach 1,000,000,000 presses. Each button press is accompanied with a yawning sound effect.

You play a black dot who can travel back and forth through a one-dimensional world. The goal is to reach each side of the screen a billion times.

Hey kids, have you heard of the new hit triple A title yet? It's Work! Experience the thrill of filling out TPS reports and getting your boss coffee all while being under-appreciated for your degree! This isn't what you went to college for, but it is what you got!

Give that Powerpoint presentation with gusto with a multitude of different customizable options! Everybody ready for casual fridays? And heeeeey now, who's that cutie they just hired as a secretary! Be careful, as in office relationships are a big no no!

You'll hate your life and start drinking, start Work! today!

So in other words, No More Heroes done with the crysis engine. The game of mowing lawns, pumping gas, picking up litter, and other things we make immigrants do.

They've already made waitress games but they haven't done a retail clerk game yet. Do price checks, make sure people aren't taking advantage of the express lane, and help bag groceries.

Or how about government bureaucracy simulator: you can choose the DMV, unemployment office, or the social security office. Different ugly bozos (you ever notice there are never any beautiful people in the dmv?) come up to your window in a bad mood and you have to provide them with forms and attitude.

The best would be insurance underwriter simulator: gives you a chance to do all the background math of Burnout Crash Junctions without the fun of hurtling into a heavily trafficked intersection with a muscle car.

What, no one's mentioned the "Watching Paint Dry" game?

You win if you sit through the time it takes for the paint to dry. To make sure you don't cheat by just leaving your game on while you go do something else, you have to press a button/wiggle the controller at random, small visual prompts so it's sure you're looking at the screen at all times.

To be fair, the concept for something like Minecraft sounds dull. If it was an official business instead of an indie project, I could imagine them yelling at the end "AND IT HAS ZOMBIES THAT BLOW UP!!!"...

How about a game where you have to arrange stacks of cardboard boxes in a warehouse. There's no real plot or goal. You just move boxes about.
