I've got some films waiting to be watched but I always end up watching comedy TV instead, Solution is obviously a comedy film. :)

Recommendations? I like almost all types of comedy.
Hoping to find some gems I've totally missed watching.

Hot Rod.
Absolutely hilarious.

EDIT: Let me through in 'The Princess Bride' as well, just because it's also so awesome.
And, for something very old, 'The Court Jester' with Danny Kaye. Also very funny.

Airplane, Monty Python (Holy Grail and Life of Brian)... that's it for now
As a matter of fact, anything monty python touched is probably comedy gold.

Animal House (Pretty much the greatest comedy film ever made, and that's not going to change any time soon.)
Ferris Bueller's Day Off (Anyone...? Anyone...? Anyone...?)
Revenge of the Nerds (Featuring the most epic panty raid of all time.)
The Blues Brothers (They're on a mission. A mission from GAD.)

Watch Snatch, it is as violent as it is hilarious and is a fantastic movie! Great character, good plot I highly recommend!

Also Pineapple Express and Tropic Thunder.

Does it have the word 'Movie' or synonym thereof?

Don't do it.
Urgh totally agreed. In my OP I almost put a rule of not mentioning such things, but I just couldn't oppress fellow escapists man.
