I hope I am not the only one who wishes that more rockstar games would come out on the PC - sure it is nice to see that L.A. Noir is coming out on PC but I would like to see games like Red Dead Redemption come out and other such games.

Perhaps it is just me, but I much prefer shooters on the PC. I like the keyboard and mouse over the X-box or PS3 controller any day.

Personally I hope that the release of L.A. Noir foreshadows a release of many more games from Rockstar.

I dunno man, I had this same thought before, then I imagined what kind of PC you'd need to run Red Dead. I'm not a hardcore PC gamer--I'm a poor middleclassman, and the thought of such a monolith frightens me to no end.

That said, perhaps it's for the best. The absolutely bollock-numbing amount of DRM that came with GTAIV was off-putting.. to say the least.

I agree, I would probably explode out of happiness if they actually released RDR for PC. Unfortunately, they "have no plans [to do so]", or so they told me when I mailed them and begged for it the other day.

Oh well, I suppose I'll just have to get a console one of these days.

I guess third-person open world games tend to work better on consoles, because from personal experience, I prefer a controller to a keyboard/mouse for third person games.
That said, I hadn't even realised Red Dead Redemption never came out on PC.

Srsly? If it runs on a current-gen console, then you need at best a midrange PC with a cheap video card to run it at the same quality.

That said, I'm not sure I'd care about Rockstar releasing anything on PC any more. I'm not too impressed with what they've made.

As long as you can play current games with your computer you wouldn't need a new one, though if you can't play any current games you would need to upgrade which isn't that expensive.

As said in other threads a console isn't some kind of magic box.

You realise that the PS3 has 5 year old tech, right? And that PC games generally come with `graphics options'? Unless you have a 10 year old PC, I think you'd be able to run it.

You wouldn't need a powerful PC to run Red Dead Redemption.

It runs fine on a 360 so you would only need a mid range spec PC to run it.

You only need one thought when it comes to PC gaming. If it runs on a console, PC's would eat it up. While consoles are fantastic, i'm not getting into that argument here, PC's are far more powerful.

Thats said, back to the topic.

Anyone here played GTA San Andreas on a PC?

It's like Rockstar took a giant shit on a disk and sold it to us. It did not translate well.

LA Noire, we've yet to see how that goes with PC. Can you imagine the uproar if it's a shite transition after it's taken this long to be ported?

I enjoyed Red Dead when I played it on my 360, I just know if the ported it to PC they would fuck it up. Not many companies are known for making good PC ports and Rockstar certainly isn't one of them (GTA:SA, Bully and GTA4 were all ported and were all a mess).

Agreed, except for the uproar part. Sadly, PC-gamers seem to be the silent protagonists in this game. We don't complain or make a huge fuss over things like terrible ports. Or rather, even if there are huge fusses over the ports, game companies just don't care, since

"all PC-Gamers' are pirating SOBs who don't deserve or care about good PC releases"

And no, that is not a quote from anyone, but rather the overall feeling I get from the mass-media and console-game-based magazines.

Why?

Rockstar focusing on Console has provided us with great results for the past few years.

I'm all for them making the games come out at the same time as the Console releases, but really, pretty much all of Rockstar's IP's are perfect for the console.

.. Not really on topic but anyway;

Does anyone know if there is anymore games in development by Rockstar at the moment? Or should I just assume GTA5?

Don't really think so. The moods of the games (to me at least) don't really seem to fit with the vibe PC gamers want to emit. Rockstar is all pseudo-intellectual sandbox-like with no difficulty and barely any lasting appeal.

No difficulty? No lasting appeal? Try getting 100% on Red Dead Redemption.
