Damnit! Ninja'd again....

I might as well add this: Decimation was a form of punishment in the Roman Army. The soldiers drew lots (most of the time), and every 1 out of 10 men was beaten to death by the 9 ahead of them.

Decimate.

Because IRONY IS WHEN YOU SAY SOMETHING AND MEAN THE OPPOSITE!

while Sarcasm IS LITTLE ABOVE JUST INSULTING SOMEONE!

Balls man! It annoys me how much I see it on this site...

It annoys me when people think me being an "atheist" means I have a mental retardation.

RPG Game.
What does the acronym stand for ladies and gentlemen? Yes. Good. Now, do you realise you are effectively saying Electro-Magnetic Pulse Pulse?
And Role Playing Game Game?
ATM Machine!

People also call games RPGs when they're not. My friend said Halo was an RPG because you are playing as Master Chief.
To be fair, technically Halo is an RPG. You are playing the role of the Master Chief in the story. It's one of the many problems inherent with the incredibly lax definition of "Role-Playing Game" these days.

To be on topic, the only poor word choice thing that really outright bothers me is the standard "I could care less" shenanigans. If people would only take a few seconds to think about it, they're realize just how fallacious such a statement is, but no one ever does.

Actually, sarcasm is typically defined as "the use of ironic wit to deride".

On accident.... WHAT THE HELL PEOPLE IT'S BY ACCIDENT
Less instead of fewer
Brought instead of bought (very common in the UK, like the people who say it)

To be honest, most of the misused words that piss me off are misused in American TV, which makes me despair, because not content with fucking up the English Language in your own country, you decide to export it to the rest of the world.

Damn Americas and their bastardisation of our language! (That's right, I used an S BECAUSE THAT'S THE RIGHT WAY TO SPELL IT!)

It doesn't really get my blood boiling, but I often wonder why it's so hard to understand 'mind' :)

A: Would you mind if I sat next to you?
B: Sure

It's the internet, you can usually understand people who randomly smack their cat against the keyboard, broken english shouldn't rub you the wrong way all that much :)

Oh, that reminds me of this little tag team of annoyance I threw together to demonstrate a point the other day:

Their so prejudice and your so bias to.
If that sentence doesn't cut you like a knife, you should probably be htting the textbooks.

hey hey hold on there buddy!, this post got reported and I must say, seriously man what the fuck are you thinking?, we don't hit kittens here...

... we punch seals.

OT, I love people saying "plethora" as "plet hora" like its two words, hugely entertaining.

I also had some kid pull out my tag out of my YSL jacket a while back and state its a fake because it had "Pour Homme" on it, his logic was that "Pour Homme" isn't a proper word, thanks kid.

Well yeah I guess technically you could say that. But I believe the definition of an RPG is a game that you can influence your characters decisions, narrative, etc. Or something to that effect.

Punch a kitten.

I think the meaning of the word has changed. It's become more like keep 1/10 instead of remove 1/10.

Makes sense. Decimation isn't a big deal, especially not in your example:
Woo, I lost 10% of my units! More likely a near flawless victory then.

-10% doen't deserve a special word.

The difference between "further" and "farther." I admit, I was guilty of this as well, but I've mended my ways. The word "further" is used along with a qualifier, eg it's 5 miles further down the road. "Farther" on the other hand doesn't use qualifiers, eg how much farther do we have to go?
At least I hope that's the right way to use them. Mock me to death if I'm wrong :)

There are a large amount of these such as PIN number, ATM machine, I even heard someone say PC computer.

This will get said a lot but irony.

This. I don't have much else to say. This guy sums it all up well. On a side note, people saying "Where you at?" annoys me. Is it so much trouble just to say wither "Where are you"? It takes just as much effort while making you sound a lot less stupid.
