I'm not sure if it's irony but...

Nintendo having the wide plethora of colourful, light hearted games and characters that they do that they do (Mario, Sonic etc) when in fact underneath it all they are probably the most corporate and sinister of all the console giants.

So far all I see is stuff that qualifies and hypocrisy. There may be some situational irony to some of these cases, but it's a stretch. You'd be assuming that the person calling you out for using the same tactic that they use is unaware that they are using the same tactic.

I have never come across a situation of irony in a game, though I used it once to respond to hate mail. That was fun.

I was told by a friend recently that i didn't understand irony, which is ironic because we were standing at a bus stop at the time.
