I agree. My biggest pet peeve with critics is when they review a genre that they clearly don't like. For example: Watch MovieBob review first person shooters. After a couple of videos, you noticed he is making the same complaints. Nothing is more annoying than a movie critic reviewing a dumb comedy or blockbuster action movie like it's a prestigious movie. Critics are not perfect. People should not put that much stock on the final grade. Just focus on the description of the movie, game, etc. and see if it's something that will appeal to you. I can't tell you how many times I read a negative review of something that I ended up liking it. Your opinions and personal feeling should not be subjected to critical reviews or comments.inu-kun said:Well I'll be playing the devil's advocate in the subject (not the video, I doubt it will have any good points).
Critics are human too, they can go to a film with preconceived notions that will impact their opinion negatively (the film was in some controversy like white people playing people who might have been black) or positively (big name producer) there can also be peer pressure involved if critics don't want to be singled out for liking a movie everyone hated.
Basically, critics are not infallible. And if you want the best meter for a film's quality look at both the critics and audience reactions.
Also, don't ignore the audience reaction. "The emperors new cloths" is in full effect here and critics can like a piece of shit that has no value because it looks deep but really isn't.
