My recently trough my mouse because it was not obeying me. But for some reason it broke my keyboard. I am unable to type anything(I am using a laptop atm). So I went to Best Buy and bought myself a shiny new keyboard. It doesn't work. I was wondering if anyone else had any simliar experiances with this type of problem and if they could help me fix it.

Woody Allen; Never trust a computer you can't throw out a window

I would suggest trying to download the drivers again, and if that don't work i dunno, there must be something wrong with the plug or something

if both keyboards are broken, I'd suspect it's what you're plugging it into.
~ my uneducated opinion ~

edit: unless both were USB. in which case, get yo self a ps/2 keyboard (as in, a keyboard with a ps/2 [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PS/2_connector] connection) and check that shit out

if you don't have a ps/2 keyboard, get a USB one

That makes sense, try redownloading the drivers, or see if other things work in the usb port (if it is a usb keyboard) such as a jump drive. If they don't, it's the port. If they do, it could still be the drivers.

Aside from a driver issue like someone said above, it wouldn't be your computer. Computers these days have plug and play capabilities, so a large majority of hardware is as easy to install as simply plugging it in.

I recently had trouble with my internet and found out after racking my brain for a solution, it was because the port was dirty. I just used a cotton swap dipped in rubbing alcohol. Maybe it's the same for you. Not sure how you'd clean out a ps/2 port though. Maybe a can of air?

I very much doubt this is a driver issuer, I'd say that by throwing it about you damaged the USB port(s), although without looking directly it's hard to say.
