Is anyone else worried that Treyarch will take an excellent game like call of duty 4 and mess it up like they did with call of duty 3?

I honestly don't know why everyone hates CoD 3 so much. Sure it didn't really improve upon anything, but that doesn't mean it was bad. CoD 4 was way better, but I hope CoD 5 will be just as good.

im only worried about one thing and that's that their going to screw up multilayer by adding vehicles. it just doesn't work in a WW2 game the average solder wasn't carrying enough explosives to take out a tank.

Yeah, but in the island hopping stage of the Pacific, a Tank was more a liability than anything. 1 troupe of Australian soldiers and a mortar took out 17 Japanese tanks in a row.
Then theirs Kursk. Which would be a sweet level.

ugh i am just going to avoid this game and wait for the reviews then consider it like all of my games
That's exactly what I am going to do. I'm probably going to leave it alone for about 3-4 weeks and see how everything goes with it.

Oh yes. Definitely yes.

But the best solution I can see to tank-nonsense is trenches and the like in the levels. If the tank can't get to you, you can organize to kill it. Make certain parts of the level (trenches, tunnels, bunkers) inaccessible to the tanks.

I dont think Kursk will be included. I read that it is set in 1944-45 and the battle of Kursk was '43.... The might just stick it in anyway mind you!

I thought CoD5 was supposed to be in the pasific? If so the occasional flame tank would be nice. Mostly because it will BBQ people in trenches but will explode by bumping into a wall to hard.

im not having great hopes in the quality of this game. even if it is bad, well have COD6 next year. And it might be in the FUTURE!

Well, I really hope Infinity ward don't go and make another modern shooter...COD 4 was ok, but the online was terrible.

BTW, COD 5 IS COD4, its the same game engine etc...the only difference is the time it was set - the stories supposed to really good too.

I think world at war looks good. I probably won't be buying it (this year) but not because it's made by treyarch. I didn't enjoy COD 3, but it wasn't awful, it just didn't compare to COD 2. They only had 8 or 9 months to make it, and it was still better than games like hour of victory. If there wasn't so many other games coming out i'd probably get it but i'll wait till 2009. If the reviews are good.

I'm worried that they'll cock it up like the Ghost Recon series, GR2 Summit strike was amazing, then they brought out GRAW with killed the entire series

That I would be interested in, but not with aliens and and monsters and Auto-killing machine lasers, but maybe human vs human, a bit of empathy for your enemy. Or, maybe, just wishing here, like the civil war in the opening scenes of the Firefly pilot.

Conciding how much I earn I may give this is a mis...unless the reviews are really, really good

I'd rather see some more gameplay videos before I make my decision. It does look fun but I am a little worried about the WWII tiemframe, regardless of where the setting will be.

The reason its coming out so soon after CoD4 is that its been in production since CoD3 was finished. They swap developers each year, so the game has had quite a while of work done on it. That said, CoD5 may be great, but ill probably do what I did with CoD4, and wait a while to get it.

From what I understand CoD:WW only covers 1945, so that's only really the Battle of Berlin (which I'm interested in seeing what they do with) and the Pacific.

Call of Duty have never really been ideal WWII games for my tastes, but if it gets good reviews then I'll probably still check this one out seeing as how CoD4's campaign was quite enjoyable.

I will state here what I have been saying for months - if theres no Australians in it I'll be insulted.
Was Australia still heavily engaged with the Japanese by 1945? I don't know a lot about the Pacific Theatre but I thought Australia's greatest participation was earlier in the war... I could very well be wrong, and the Aussies may be included, but my cynical nature would say 'don't get your hopes up'.
