There was a Jethro Tull concert tour back in the 70s that I heard about, but was too young to attend. Let me set the scene for you:
All the lights in the arena go dark. One spotlight comes on. It follows Ian Anderson, who's using his flute as a cane, stooped over and tapping his way across the stage. When he reaches the center, he straightens suddenly and tosses the flute up in the air.
The spotlight follows it, turning end over end, shining in the dark...and the moment it slaps back down into Ian Anderson's palm, all the lights blast on and the opening six notes of "Aqualung" ring out.
I think I would have wet myself from the sheer coolness.
